Karnezis won the club's rookie of the year gong in 2011 after a spectacular start to his AFL career but had a largely forgettable year in 2012 when he spent most of his time in the reserves. The 20-year-old is from a tight-knit Melbourne family and is understood to occasionaly suffer from homesickness. But he is contracted to Brisbane for another year and will not be put on the table as part of the package for Tippett as he is considered a required player for 2013.
