Hawthorn defender
Tom Murphy is facing the distinct possibility of being squeezed out by the club's trade for Brian Lake. The free agent, 26, will have to wait until the end of the trade period before being told whether he is wanted by the Hawks.
Former Port Adelaide defender
Stephen Gilham has fielded inquiries from Gold Coast.
Unrestricted free agent
Clinton Young has attracted interest from Collingwood and the Brisbane Lions.
A deal landing
Josh Caddy at Geelong is close after Gold Coast backed down on its original demand for two first-round picks for the talented midfielder. Both clubs were last night finalising a shuffling of later draft picks. The central piece of the deal is the Cats' first-round compensation selection.
Once the Caddy deal is done, the Cats will turn their attention to North Melbourne ruckman
Hamish McIntosh, with a deal involving a second or third-round pick going from Geelong to North likely.
North Melbourne key forward
Lachie Hansen has attracted interest as he remains locked in a contract standoff with the Roos. Several clubs have inquired about Hansen, with Fremantle, Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney believed to be among them.
Essendon confirmed yesterday they had received no offers for
Scott Gumbleton. Defenders Cale Hooker and Tayte Pears have received little interest either.
St Kilda is moving closer to securing Gold Coast ruckman
Tom Hickey, with the Suns accepting a deal will eventually be done.
