Albeit he is a super tactical coach and he is worth every buck he's getting at freo and he's no cuddly teddy bear with the players
He gives you about two chances and if you screw up your papers are stamped ie jack Antony

Don't see anything wrong with what the freo did all in the rules .All this crap about spirit of the game  from Dimma is crap for me and a whingeIt's about winning games that's all and you do it anyway you can.If Dimma and his whole box never saw it coming, as he was named emergency well they got caught napping not for the first time this year to.

Correct. A player of the calibre of Sandilands as an emergency?  :lol

Dimma's just frustrated that we couldn't get the job done. Sandiland's led Freo just too good.
Reckon he would regret the inference in hindsight and no surprise the club didn't lodge an official complaint.

Freo cleared over Sandilands inclusion (afl site)
« Reply #81 on: August 21, 2012, 07:06:06 PM »
THE AFL will take no action against Fremantle over the late inclusion of ruckman Aaron Sandilands in the win over Richmond last Saturday.

Football operations manager Adrian Anderson said the AFL had received a medical certificate on Griffin’s condition from Fremantle's medical staff along with a copy of his MRI report.

The scan indicated an acute adductor strain which the club doctor said occurred during the team warm up.

"Following consultation with the AFL Medical Commissioners the AFL is satisfied with the explanation provided and no further action will be taken," an AFL statement said.

Seriously, who cares.

He was named in the 25 man squad, surely they did some prep for the match having Sandilands as a chance to play.

Clutching at straws and been a total beat up by the media.

Media beat up? Hardwick asked them to.

Hardwick asked who? What exactly?

Hardwick was asked a question by the media, he answered, they asked the same question again, he said he wasn't making any further comment and then said he'd leave it to the media to work it out

media then goes into the Freo presser and says "Damien Hardwick said BLAH BLAH". Ross (Mr Honesty I'm not) Lyon says don't question my integrity BLAH, BLAH and next thing we have the standard media headline search on for the week. Followed by selective reporting on what was asked and what was answered

Would think that as a result it qualifies as a media beat up

Hardwick knew exactly what he was doing by answering the way he did, its not as if he held back. Reckon if he had his time over, he wouldnt go down that path again, came across as very odd and silly.

He was an emergency so should have been planned for, so why even get upset over it?

Hardwick just needed to blow off some steam. "Car City eyes" Lyon was lying his arse off - but it was within the rules. Hardwick should have dealt with it at selections

Hardwick described his comment about Sandilands' inclusion during the press conference after the game as "irrational".

"That's just how it goes. It’s an emotional game, footy," he said.

"We move on pretty quickly. We're big boys.

"We make some irrational comments at times and that was one from me."
