Those saying he will cost us nothing are only partially correct. He will take a spot on our list, one that could be filled by a promising youngster.

Other clubs' duds are OK. It's just our own duds that the prima-donnas have an issue with.

I've been on the get Knights bandwagon for a while now.

And who do we replace Knights with on a weekly basis when he is injured? He is an average injury-prone footballer who has never played a full season of football in his 8 year career.  In his 4 year career Nahas averages 3.3 less disposals a game but .5 more goals and 1.7 more tackles.  So how is he an upgrade on Nahas exactly?  At least Nahas still has room for improvement and development.

Apart from body shape, what makes Knights a better option than Nahas -fact based and standards oriented.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I'm not disputing that nanas hasn't done well for himself or the team.
In my opinion he's way too lightly built for finals footy. He struggles against bigger stronger teams.
He has currency now.
Knights is a mid / forward.
He's a big bodied player that won't get blown over by a strong breeze.
He will cost nothing to get him.

and he will ensure the medical staff earn their keep  :thumbsup

what a tantalising prospect, an injury prone 26 year old whose only knock is his kicking.

nahas misses many targets and easy goals

he is light , falls over too easy and we dont need him as we have edwards and king

we must be smart and get rid of him when he has currency

should have doe the same with foley yrs ago

Disagree on moving on Foley atm. If he doesn't play 22 games next season then I'll be on your line of thought there. He is too important to our midfield IMO. Once he was out this year we struggled big time there.

As for Nahas, not sure Knights is a reliable enough replacement (horrible run with injuries). I'd take Knights if he cost next to nothing, as he does have potential upside and if fit would be a good player. I would imagine if these whispers were true, and we did get him, we would have all 4 of Edwards, King, Nahas and Knights on the list fighting for that same spots, giving us some depth in that area and decent competition.

yeah 4 D graders fighting for 1 spot. Great. Thats the correct definition of a list clogger.

we need depth yes but id rather quality as well. Paul Puopolo or Fasoulo all good players found from lower grades.

I want to see some real pressure by our smalls in our F 50. Right now i see lightly framed players getting thrown about as ease. No tackling pressure at all and above all else im not sure Nahas even knows where to stand around the packs.

Knights is not the answer but if he can be kept injury free then he will be an upgrade on Nahas. King may be slowing down also as he nears 30 and injury creeps up on him.

I used to be a fan of Knights, but after thinking about I wouldnt even bother, as dan said better off looking for someone from the lower leagues, plenty that have the talent to play afl footy if given the chance. Knights has just missed way too much football and his main weapon - a long booming kick, has gone to the crapier the past several years

Nup. No relation.

Here's an Adelaide fan giving his perspective of Chris Knights ...

Okay I thought I'd put a Crows perspective on this.

He probably leaves the club, he hasn't been offered a contract and is getting minimal game time.

His 2009 was amazing, had his hamstring held together we would've played in a prelim. He kicked 40 odd goals in 20 games. His left foot was a weapon best shot outside 50 in that year.

Then the injuries happened...

His leg doesn't have that 60m distance. He lacks pace, can accumulate good numbers had some very good games last year.

I see him as a good value play for a new club, give him two years and you might get a great player for nothing, or you get a serviceable depth player.

He'll do good things with a change of scenery IMO.

Yeah you've done well with recycled goods. He'll come free of charge and if a new environment gets the best out of him then you guys will be laughing.

He has been very good at SANFL level this year and only average at best at AFL level this year. The Richmond game was his best performance this year ironically.

He represents a good value play.

That's the thing Knights good year was 2009, our last run at finals. He hasn't been close to that in three seasons now. That is where the risk comes in.

Trust me you don't want Knights of 2010  :P
