We won't finish 12th unless we lose to Port. Most likely we'll finish either 10th or 11th depending on who wins between the Blues and Saints.

Assuming Carlton beat St Kilda (so we finish 11th), I think we will end up with picks 10, 29, 32, 50, 68, ...

The Dees and Dogs sure picked a 'handy' year to use their first round compo picks  :whistle.

25. Gold Coast ...... (PP)
26. Melbourne ...... (PP)

Cheers gerks  :cheers. I initially thought they only scrapped the early first round ones which were tanked for but I just rechecked and you're right (AFL will now use its discretion in handing out all PPs).

I'll edit the above list. It's better news for us anyway.

Immediately after Port's second round pick as it is tied to then.

If this weekend:

Footscray win
Richmond win

Footscray will swap positions with Port, which would see our second round compo pick come 1 early haha!  :rollin :thumbsup

I hope GWS or GC Suns nominate Viney.  :pray

The Dogs will nominate Daniher.

i thought that to outbid a father sun nomination you had to use a earlier round pick, which basically means you can't outbid the club if they are prepared to use their first round pick?

Correct Al, but I believe what there trying to say is the hope these clubs use there first round picks to nominate them forcing Melbourne and Essendumb to use there first round pick to pick them up ;)

I am confident that our recruiters will find some talent to add to the club. I wouldn't have said that in the past but our recent track record has been very promising.

For me, the biggest points of interest come this draft is - 1) What picks we have left which we haven't used for trades & 2) what type of players we choose.

I'm expecting a large amount of midfielders this draft.

Correct, if GWS or GC state they are prepared to use pick 1 or 2 on Viney, the Demons have to give up pick 3 for him. Same goes with Daniher and the Bummers first pick.

It's been pretty well documented that Melbourne and Essendon are expecting to part with their first picks in the draft for both.
