Troy Menzel expected now to slide down the draft due to his knees and on the back of his older brother's knee injuries at Geelong.

----------------------------
A HISTORY of injuries could lead to draft prospect Troy Menzel plummeting down this year's order as clubs debate whether he is worth the risk.

The younger brother of Geelong's Daniel Menzel has been regarded as a top-five pick on talent but is no certainty to be taken in the top 30 after having LARS surgery as a 16-year-old and breaking down again on Sunday.

Menzel was injured playing for SANFL club Central Districts and has been booked in to have both knees scanned. Results could be known as soon as today.

One recruiter described Menzel as "an absolute ripper".

"Without the injuries, he'd be a top-five pick," he said.

"His goalkicking ability and his agility are first-class."

If Menzel was still around at either picks 29 or 31 would you take the risk?

Take him at 31. Trade 9 for Tyson and use 29 in the draft on another solid, core player. That gives us 2 certainties then the possibility of Menzel coming good woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :shh

Troy Menzel is breathing a sigh of relief after scans revealed the prolific goalkicker won't need a second knee reconstruction following a collision at the weekend. Troy strained his left posterior cruciate ligament, so he'll undertake an eight- to 12-week rehabilitation program.

I remember one T.Cotchin having heavy injury concerns before he was drafted by us. A modified training program and sufficient time to heal all wounds does wonders, but hey lets talk it up enough so other clubs start believing it and he might be there as an option for us.  :thumbsup

If Menzel did slide down to 31 cause of his injuries, who would you take. Lee or Menzel?

I'd be surprised if we didnt lose one of picks 29, 31 or 50 in a trade.

we may get something similar back in offloading a player, but i'm not sure how.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."
