How many people would have any real idea about the potential draftees?
I wait until I see who we pick and then find out all i can about that person rather than waste my time reading up all the Big Footy views on the potential draftees just so I can second guess the club and tell the world they should have taken player X instead on draft day.

I then wait until i have actually seen them play before I form a view on them.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

geez what a response.. from that i take it no one is interested in  who the players are who may or may not be coming to the club. top 10 picks usually mean v/good players at least and no one has an inkling.
here i was thinking most supporters have an inkling on who they would like but not on this site it seems.

seems one has to go elsewhere  to get a decent  conversation on the most important thing fronting all clubs out of finals. the nd.
its amazing a footy site that doesnt discuss the draft and its posters have no opinion on the players in the nd.

childish and churlish outbursts like that are probably the reason why this site doesnt grow.
no wonder ive never been a real regular here when the above is  indicative of the majority of posts on this site. seems its full of 12 yr olds sometimes.

to others i apologise did not see that thread and am happy to have the mods delete this one.

I'm with Al and Stripes.  I don't have close enough contact with the draftee system in general to have anything more than a passing interest in who is developing and who is available (although my 16yr old nephew made next year's Level 1 AIS squad so I might take a bit more interest in 2013)  ;D.  When it gets closer to the draft and some of the respected scribes/journos write their pieces then I take some interest in their opinions but the reality is that I would be speaking from an ignorant and non-informed perspective so I don't tend to get involved in the 'who' - I'm much more into the 'what' at this early stage.

When it gets closer we will get the articles and the highlight reels. I watched most of the carnival games on Fox but to be honest none of the names really stuck. The blokes that did stand out in one game faded away in the next anyway. Too hard to call at the moment unless you follow it closely.

I think we should pick the player who's going to be a bonafide superstar in 5 years time.

Any chance of Sam Mayes lasting to pick 9?

While the draft camp will clarify things further as far as athletic ability, I'm presuming Whitfield, Toumpas, Grundy plus father-sons Viney and Daniher are lock-ins in the top 10. That leaves 4 unknown picks before ours.

1. GWS - Whitfield
2. GC - Toumpas
3. Melb - Viney (f/s)
4. Melb - Grundy
5. WB - ?
6. WB - ?
7. Port - ? ...... presumably will go for one of the SA kids expected to go high up.
8. Bris - ?
9. Rich - ?
10. Ess - Daniher (f/s)

As JVT said Vlastuin has been the one linked to us. Apparently FJ is a fan and as a Victorian there'll be no go home factor to worry about down the track.

Pound for pound Ben Kennedy is the most talented player in the draft.
Elite speed, big left foot and goal kicker....
Is 174cm too short?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

not if your good enough it isnt, but i feel its a big risk to use a first rounder on someone that size. they would have to be so much better than the other options to do so.

Hey MT, are we having a Phantom draft this year? If so count me in. I'll even take on the mantle of the Tigers again as selecting Devon Smith with Pick 15 was sheer genius and I can't wait to get a hold of pick 9 this year.  :pray

My feelings too al. When you're only that height you need to have elite speed, skills and footy brain. Kennedy would need to be the next Brent Harvey  :eyebrow and if he was he would go before pick 9.
