Grundy's highlights are more impressive than Vlastuin's to me.
Most definitely. We must not let Grundy go by if available, I don't care what FJ and his cohorts say.

Looks and plays like a young Gary Dempsey:

grundy is a young man playing against boys in those highlights though

You seen the size of Viney, Wines, Vlastuin etc.?
They aint boys.
But i take your point. He is pretty physically developed. Not sure if this is a bad thing though.

not necessarily a bad thing, but when you see a ruckman with a beard destroying skinny boys you do need to take it into consideration when comparing highlights packages.

Grundy has played against men and looking at his tats seemed to take on more ruck duties towards the end of the year and won his share of hit outs.
didn't do a great deal around the ground, but then again marics stats were not that flattering until we recruited him.

I wouldnt be dissapointed if we drafted him, but the go home factor is a concern, particularily for someone who will still probably take time to have any real impact.

Can't see us deviating now from our long term recruiting plan. By inviting Wood and the Big O to train with us that tells me straight away our plan was never to get a young ruck man in the draft. Could be wrong but I doubt whether we won't take a midfielder with our first pick.

Does he get tattoos of his hitout stats? Whereabouts?

The guy (Grundy)is a must if available.

Why?

We are NOT going to win the premiership next year or the year after most likely.

We need a young ruck who can develop into a top liner. From all reports and what I have seen he is pretty close to Kreuzer (before doing his knee!).  Maric will only be good for another 3 to 4 years tops. Even in one or two he may get injured as we use him all the time which results in wear and tear.  At least we will have a talented back up to support our mids.

It's important to have a good ruck as shown by getting rid of Graham.  At the moment the only back ups are all spuds. Wood=spud, Big O=spud. The big Dx=unproven even at his age!

Very good rucks are very hard to find.  Good Mids are much easier to find and they develop faster.  That means we need to start earlier in finding a good ruck than a mid.  Next years draft has many good mids. Even at choice thirty odd we could probably pick up a handy mid.  You will be surprised who could slide that far.  The absolute elite mids will be gone by 9 if Grundy slides to us.

And a good big man will always beat a good little man!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

More from Brett Anderson tonight on twitter:

"My info suggests he [Grundy] will still be there at 9. Still feel they opt for the midfielder in Vlastuin over Grundy."

"Macrae is my slider. I have him at 12 to GWS."

"Dees will take him [Wines] over Toumpas at 4. Dogs to get Toumpas and O'Rourke."

"I think Tiges pass even if he is there... "

------------------------------------
So Anderson has:

1. Whitfield ......... GWS
2. Menzel ............ GWS
3. Plowman ......... GWS
4. Wines ............. Melb.
5. Toumpas ......... WB
6. O'Rourke ......... WB
7. Mayes ............. Port
8. Jaksch ............. Bris
9. Vlastuin ........... Rich
10. Daniher ......... Ess
11. Stringer ......... Carl
12. Macrae .......... GWS
13. Grundy .......... GC

We beat both gf sides.

No reason we cannot win flag year after next

Going into 2014
Foley 29
Imaric 28
Deledio 27
Jack/Morris.26
Cotchin 24/25

I'd.hope we would be knocking on the door.

Have to pick Grundy if he slips to 9.

We'd be mad not to.
