Was super keen on Vlastuin, but reading Wines could slip? Man that gives me a chub.

I would be happy with either. Vlastuin has better foot skills on both sides than Wines but wins is an awesome extractor of the ball, puts his body on the line in the same mold as Joel Selwood. If Wines is available I think the way he attacks the footy will get him over the line but in saying that the club may believe the Vlastuins disposal is more superior and go in that direction instead. Its gunna be a 50/50 call!!

Jaksch seems to be a really quality young tall. At about 195cm and a good weight mid 80's, I think he could be a very good. We really dont have a tall CHF at all. Vickery seems like someone who will play the ruck/fwd role but a true CHF is a real benefit IMHO. I prefer us to go  tall with pick 9 and then take mids at 32, 34 and 43. Jaksch could be a really good pick if Brisbane dont take him.

People seem to have forgot on about Todd Elton. Just because he only played the one game last year doesn't mean he's not going to play more down the track ;D I really rate this kid, he will play across the HF line and float through the Ruck, expect bigger things from him this season ;). I don't see why we would use pick 9 on a tall in exactly the same mould as one we allready have........

Havent forgotten Elton at all. I just believe that you can never have enough of this type of player. Jaksch can also play down back and at 195cm and 87kg he is exactly the right size for a KPP. If I had the choice of Jaksch, Wines, Vlastuin or Lonergan, I would pick Jaksch every time.

Vlastuin and Wines will be good players but Vlastuin was only going at 60% efficiency in the championships. For me thats not good enough for a top 10 pick. Wines is slow and is no way similar to Selwood in terms of speed etc.

I beg to differ, Selwood is far from the fast and from what I have seen of Wines there would be little to no difference.
The thing with Wines is he rarely gets outside to show any pace, the kid is always in the thick of it and doesn't have any issue keeping up.........

Also if Vlastuin was kicking at 60% the wines mast have been at 40%......

So your saying 197cm and 92kg isn't the right size for a KPP :huh :huh

I think Jaksch plays taller if that makes sense. He is one of the best marks in the draft and a super accurate kick for goal - rarely misses!

Don't need Jaksch, but I'd be wrapped if we managed to get Grundy.

Wines is a better option than Vlastuin, both will be good.

What's peoples thoughts on Menzel? Is he worth taking the risk on with pick 9, as there seems to be the growing possibility that he'll be there.

The other one I'd like to pick up is Stringer.

Stringer is a FIGJAM. Having said that if he can back it up then he's our answer to passing up Pavlich so many years ago. Same type of player, same potential talent.

You we do need a Jaksch type player. When you consider the injury concerns on Griffiths, Grimes, when you consider that Elton is just a kid as well, that Astbury needs to massively improve in the next 12 months, that McGuane was played up forward and that we still have Derrickx on our list then yeah I reckon we need a Jaksch type player.

If wines gets to 9 then we must take him. The boys attitude, discipline, competitiveness and drive is probably close to the best in the draft. A ready made player, will make it 200+gamer

Your just adding the exact type of player to the list of players you just gave. Jaksch is going to take time to develop as well. Grundy can impact round 1, I don't think Jaksch can necessarily, but hey, I could be wrong.

Maybe there's now a late curveball with just over 24 hours to go?

From Brett Anderson:

"Big call between Wines/Vlastuin. Jaksch is one I keep hearing though."

"Just working on a little whisper i heard from an impeccable source."

"Jaksch would be drafted as a CHF. If it is a pick between him & Vlastuin, its a no brainer on talent. "

"Fair enough. As I said, Im going on a hunch. Tiges have questioned Vlas workrate when he doesnt have ball"

I think I have mentioned it before, but word down here in Traralgon is that GWS want Membrey and he has apparently been told that he'll end up there.

Things could change I guess.

could be with pick 14
