Tigers should trade Nathan Brown

Recent revelations by Browny in my view now mean that the club is entitled to trade the player at the end of the season. And lets not let emotion get in the way. Brown in 27-28 years old, he wont be around in 5 years and he probably wont be in Richmonds next premiership side. I would trade him at seasons end, both Collingwood and Essendon will want him and they will have an early pick which will probably see us having 2 top 10 picks again. It would also help us create major space in the salary cap to accomodate our younger players development and wage demands, coupled with the trading or retirements of Gaspar and the Retirement of Campbell next year, along with Stafford, Richardson and Kellaway over the next 2 or 3 years we will be able to be really agressive in getting the players we need to be a powerful force again in the league. So for me, Brown is expendable and he should be traded....there are to many good reasons not to!

Ramps I have great respect for your opinions, but, er, maybe not.

"Browny is the best full-forward in the game by a considerable margin" - Gerard Healy after Browny kicked his fourth.

The caffeine issue is being overblown IMO, but in retrospect Wallace may have made a very sound decision by denying Browny the captaincy.

we'd be stupid not to trade him if someone coughed up a top 10 pick and another inside the first round. Remember he is 27-28 yo...not getting any younger. Clubs dont have balls to trade big names and thats why they never succeed. In 2 years time if he is playing crap you guys will be saying we should have traded him 2 years ago when he was firing....sadly by then it would be 2 late!

???I'm astounded!!! If we can get two good years out of him on our way up the ladder, then he's well worth keeping, I see him as more of a plus atm

Problem there is we are already close to the minimum TPP you can have. If we let Browny go on top of Cambo who's retiring then we'll have to either pay our current crop more (ah no) or chase after another big name and pay $$$.

Understand where you're coming from RT but disagree in Browny's case. Browny is our best player, an A-grader, a matchwinner and an example of the skill our young blokes need to aspire to. We'd be better off trading an over-valued B-grader who had a top year IMO. Add to that smart recruiting with our draft picks.
