Without giving any of the story away, 1917 is worth seeing for the cinematography alone. I like history and the timeline and name of French towns mentioned in the film also fitted in with what was going on at that time during WW1. Not as gory as it could have been for those wondering but the film still conveyed the scale of death and waste on the Western Front.

Just Mercy which is based on a true story is excellent. Didn't know before seeing the film that the town was the same as the one in To Kill a Mockingbird. The Alabama death row 'error' stats the film displays are just disturbing.

Looking forward to watching this one.

Michael B Jordan is a real up-and-comer so I think he's been well cast.

American justice system really is a human rights disaster. Trouble is, movies like this tend to present these cases as exceptional and outside the norms.

Midway was very good IMO and they kept as much as possible to the actual historical events and timeline. Thankfully they didn't make it a gun-ho USA all the way movie.

I recently saw the Professor and the Madman (based on a true story) after a cousin of mine mentioned it and really liked it. It copped a bad rap from a few movie critics but plenty of positive reviews on the net from ordinary movie-goers. Not sure what the critics were on about.

After getting back from the Philippines and having to spend 2 weeks in quarantine, Netflix and Prime Video have been the only things keeping me sane. Where’s sport when you need it!!

Anyhow, I’ve watched two awesome sports documentaries.

1- The Test .. this is on prime video and possibly the best sport documentary I’ve ever watched. Just wow. The way you are taken into the inner sanctum is an experience. Amazing

2- The Last Dance .. only 4 parts in , but great insight into Jordan and the Bulls. As a Pistons fan, I’ve found that part of it extremely interesting. Poor Jerry Krause cops an absolute hiding and isn’t alive to defend himself. But that aside ...

Both great shows for all us sports lovers.

Welcome back :thumbsup

I also watched the last dance Damo and its great. Really enjoyed it.

I wont say much about it as others havent seen it, though i researched rodmans net worth and he is worth only $500,000, while his former teammates are worth millions. (billions if your MJ)

says a lot.

Havent seen The Test, what is prime video? Never heard of it

I have finished Ozark and Money Hiest. I enjoyed them both, but Money Heist is great IMO.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Cheers mate

Prime Video is the Amazon version of Netflix/Stan etc
$3.99 a month and well worth it

I’ve watched Ozark and I’m part way into Money Heist. Ozark was good for sure. I like Jason Bateman.

As for Rodman , he would be lucky to be worth 500k. When he started all the North Korea stuff he could afford the flights. He played hard and has lived harder!

Just finished the new season of Ozark. Very good - better than previous seasons.

Watching Dark now. Solid.

Mars season 2 is next.

Recent flicks:
Blackkklansman was very good/funny.
Extraction (Hemsworth) was crap but good action scenes and camera work etc.

Just finished an excellent 7 part mini series on Netflix. Would recommend "The Queen's Gambit" to all but especially to those amongst us that are chess players.
