Vlastuin acclaimed

Richmond’s recruiting manager Francis Jackson took great pride in presenting the Club’s first draft pick in the 2012 National Draft, Nick Vlastuin, with the Cosgrove-Jenkins award, as the Tigers’ best first-year player, at last Monday night’s Jack Dyer Medal.

After detailing Vlastuin’s key football statistics for the year, Jackson was quick to point out that they didn’t tell the whole tale of the impact he had in his debut league season.

“He showed tremendous qualities in other areas . .

Vlastuin a “veteran”
richmondfc.com.au

“It’s like he’s played 100 games already,” Hardwick said.

“We love his decision-making, he’s composed with the ball and, more importantly, wins the ball, which is something a lot of players struggle to do, especially when they first come into the system.  So, we’re really pleased with what he brought to the table . . .

“He’s got to get a little bit more outside ball.  Obviously, he wins his own ball, but we’d like him to get some ball on the outside because he actually makes really good decisions with it.

5 seasons - Nick Vlastuin

Wednesday March 27

There are reasons to think he might, maybe, get to play in the round-one team. Nick Vlastuin keeps running through them in his head.

He has played in all of the pre-season games but one, and he only missed that match because he needed a rest. He hasn’t asked the coaches whether he has been doing all the things they want to see him doing, but they haven’t brought anything up, or given him any reason to think he isn’t on the right track. At a press conference yesterday Damien Hardwick was asked whether he would play and the coach said he was “thereabouts,” which made Nick wonder whether he was closer to being in, or closer to being out.

Says in the interview that Aidan Corr wanted to come to Richmond as well.

Where is he (GWS?) and when is his contract up?  :whistle

Thought he would of bulked up a bit more, still looks pretty lean in the boxing video.

Hes already big and strong enough imo wat, probably staying lean bc he really needs to step up his endurance to be able to get more ball outside as well.
