For a team screaming out for a big bodied mid, we have just the guy but we put him in the back pocket.
Isn't that where you play all your best recruits?

Vlastuin
Lennon
Corey Ellis

They have to learn to play there until all their flair is taken from them .....

And miles. Lambert.

Releases Cotchin Edwards and deledio too

All it takes Dimma to give the kids a chance instead of his dud mates

Vlastuin can be a genuine goal-kicking midfielder.

Needs to stay there until the end of the year.

I'll put my hand up I had doubts about him playing in the guts as i was under the impression he played back in his final TAC year. He looked probably the best hes looked for a long time the other night. Hopefully dimmer will give him an extended run - cotch, dusty, miles and Vlastuin with cameos from Edwards and Deledio is a pretty good centre square setup

From what I have witnessed so far this season - Townsend and Andrew Moore are definitely spuds . Both carrying on the Richmond tradition of list clogging.

Play Vlastuin in the middle PLEASE !!!!

“We’ve always sort of wanted to give him the opportunity to play (in the midfield).  With Trent (Cotchin) being out, and probably our midfield being a little bit light at the moment, it was an opportunity to see how he went,” Hardwick said.

“He was pretty good early, but it’s one of those experiments that’s going to take a little bit of time to see the long-term benefits of it.

“It’s a different kettle of fish playing midfield as compared to down back.  But I thought he showed some really good signs.

“He’s incredibly clean, tough.  I enjoy what he gave us tonight (Friday night).

“He’ll only get better for the run . . .”

An "experiment" to play him where he was born to play and what he was drafted for....

Internally this was always the plan, its just media spin for the less acquainted fan. Twas no experiment.

To me Vlas looks like he would be an exceptional player at Hawthorn or Geelong.

Probably where he will end up if Hardwick keeps on tooling him around.

I haven't watched the game back yet but did he play onball in the second half? I remember thinking he didn't but may be wrong. First round draft choices are for midfielder or KPP. Not back pockets.
Blind Freddie can see he is stale in the backline.

Dimmas dissection -  will go in the guts again at stages.  To be quite honest there was no need for thomas, moore, townsend when you had vlas at hb. Give him time in the middle from when he was drafted and he would have been taking the comp on by now.
