What no one is talking about: Vlastuin has rediscovered his bestAndrew Slevison

19 June 2023Premiership defender Nick Vlastuin’s form had dipped around a month ago.
His regular output had dropped off and he had been making a few more errors than we’ve been used to.
In the one-point loss to Essendon in Round 10, Vlastuin showed that his form was starting to turn with 22 touches, 11 marks and five rebound 50s.
Unfortunately he copped a corky in that game which kept him out for two weeks, but since his return he has been superb in back-to-back wins over Fremantle and the Saints.
He was one of Richmond’s best few in the Dockers win where he had 26 disposals, 12 marks and seven rebound 50s.
On Saturday night, he was again in the top few Richmond players with an assured showing of 23 touches, nine marks and six rebound 50s in slippery conditions.
Vlastuin is so vital to the way Richmond plays with his ability to read the ball and intercept at will. His upturn in form is a massive boost for their finals hopes.
