Agree ramps, i felt we had nought covered.. Without mentioning the usual suspects, over the 2 games i was pretty happy with Ellis, Vlastuin, Conca, Astbury, Knights, Petterd, Vickery.
Ellis looked quicker and sharper and was pretty impressive.
Conca did some really nice things before getting crunched.
Vlastuin looks the goods, sees ball gets ball and showed a touch of class.
Knights had some good clean touches.
Astbury looked lively/quicker than he has in the past, used his smarts and got involved.
Vickery competed well
Was surprised at petterds disposal, was v solid.

Negatives, nothing new, White, McGuane, Xman, Jacko and no Ivan in the ruck = trouble.

Loved Ellis, Vlastuin, Newman and Martin.
Dea looked steady might be ready to take the next step

Admit we are screwed without Marric! Just watching Currie, I know it's only one game but he showed more in one game than Derix and Stephenson's career put together! We. Really needed that extra pick within the 50's last year ::)

Currie and Hannath were 2 names a few ppl who cop poo on this board mentioned as rucks we should have targeted in the off season. Those posters were ridiculed and told they were dreamin. Currie showed hes going to be pretty handy!

We are in desperate need of a second ruckman and if we can find another quality midfielder with some decent leadership ability we will be right in the van  ;D
That's why Vicks is under the microscope IMO. He really needs to step-up and help Ivan out in the Ruck.

Forget Vickery

He has no interest in playing in the ruck.

He wants to be Jack

I had us taking Currie in my phantom draft with our last "live" pick, jury's still out but gee he looks handy!!

He wants to 'ruin' Jack, looking at that stupid shirtfront he gave him.

At the moment I would be trying Griffiths up forward instead of Vickery. Ty needs a rocket he seems in cruise mode at the moment.

Positives:

The defence stood up well, and we have Grimes and Chaplin to slot in there as well.
Petterd looks more than handy, a solid performance.
Chocco's work with the kids already showing good signs. Arnot good, O'Hanlon good, McDonough promising and Vlaustin very good!
Ellis very good.
Depth

Negatives:

The bombing inside 50, it always seems crowded and chaotic in there. We keep the ball inside our half well, we have to sort out the forward structure a bit better.
Derickx - he won't play much unless Maric, Vickery, Stephenson, McGuane and Tuck are injured  :lol He's behind all them at this stage.
The umpires either hate us, or we are too undisciplined.

There were still a lot of players I wanted to see that didn't have a hit out, Helbig, Elton, Williams, Verrier, Lonergan and McIntosh.
And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside that I really do

Vlastuin was the big positive for mine, the big negative was the ruck, the Big O is a spud and the Xmen can only go up but sadly never will

Could only listen to the n0rf game on the radio in the car on the way to the hospital (in-law emergency  :banghead all good though! Nothing serious), but all in all really happy with how we went. Vlastuin, Ellis, Conca, Batchy (in the first), noticing the difference when Vickery is back in the rotations etc. called the old man and he said our best blokes were on the bench  in the final moments as if to see how the younger guys handle the pressure.

 :cheers  :gotigers

Black goals for n0rt, last 3 goals to them and they lead by 5 just befre half time.

27-32

Just on that goal, I reckon we were robbed. It came from a spill after Griffiths tackled Petrie who dropped the ball like a hot potato and wasn't pinged.
