The Barometer - Round 7
Herald-Sun
May 7, 2013

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: After an almost injury-free start to the season, the Tigers suddenly have a host of sore bodies – and at the worst possible time. As well as the above list Jake King has a hand injury and Dylan Grimes has a sore foot. They will both fly to Adelaide and Maric is a good chance to play but Vickery has to pass a concussion test and Petterd might miss. If there is a selection change due to form, Matt White seems the most likely casualty. He was subbed on for Vickery just after halftime against the Cats and struggled to have any impact on the contest.

ON THE CUSP: Better news here for Tiger fans. Coburg scored an impressive win against Essendon’s VFL side on Saturday with several players putting their names forward for senior selection. Shane Tuck returned from a week’s rest to gather 25 disposals while Nathan Foley is ready to go after 24 touches of his own. Former Roo Aaron Edwards had 22 disposals and took 16 marks, adding two goals to take his tally to 14 in the past three weeks. Robin Nahas booted four, as did young tall Liam McBean. If Maric and/or Vickery doesn’t come up, former Cat Orren Stephenson is waiting in the wings.

AL PATON’S FORECAST: Is it too early to say Richmond’s season is on the line against Port Adelaide on Saturday? After a flying start the Tiger bandwagon is looking wobbly and the AAMI Stadium clash might determine which of these two teams plays in September. After that the Tigers face Melbourne before tough assignments against Essendon and West Coast leading into the bye.

Time to bring Foley in. We can sub him if he tires. We desperately need some spark in the guts.

In the mix: round seven
afl.com.au
Tuesday, May 7, 2013

RICHMOND
Aaron Edwards could finally get his chance at senior level after an extended run of good form in the VFL if Ty Vickery (concussion) is not fit to travel to AAMI Stadium. Edwards has kicked 19 goals in the past five weeks, and took a massive 16 marks against Essendon at the weekend. Ruckman Orren Stephenson will also be on standby this week if Ivan Maric doesn't recover from an ankle complaint. After a lengthy rehabilitation, Nathan Foley could finally be ready to return from an Achilles tendon injury, with Shane Tuck another option to strengthen the midfield. Both were strong performers for Coburg, along with Robin Nahas, who booted four goals. - Nathan Schmook

RFC website confirms both Grimes (foot) and Petterd (calf) are out for the next 1-2 weeks. Maric and Vickery both listed as "test".

I can't see Astbury getting a game

Agree with wayne

Batch & Dea will come in for Grimes & Petterd

Unless Maric & Vickery dont' come up I can't see there being any other changes

Wouldn't be surprised to see Matty White get omitted as well.

If they want to bring in Foley (who told me last night his ankle/foot is feeling really good  :thumbsup) then yep maybe.

With Foley it depends if they intend to see thorugh the "he must play 3 VFL games before he's considered for senior selection" mantra

If Foley or Tuck don't come in, wouldn't mind finally seeing Arnot have a go for White. Has been in decent form so it's not really gifting a game. Reckon we could use the extra grunt and some bigger nurries in the side at this time. Only if the only outs are Petturd and Grimes though. Wholesale changes are bad, mmkay.

No Arsebury plskthx.

I'd bring back Tuck without hesitation. He's an inside mid and we lacked that last week when things started to turn to pooh

Think everyone knows who I'd drop but those that we (me included) think should be dropped for crimes against the art of disposing of the footy aren't going to be. Reality tells us that the chances of it happening are practically non-existent

On top of that, personally I can't see them making wholesale changes so with that in mind I reckon they go with Foley ahead of Tucky
