Just watching 360 encore since I missed it earlier, Robbo saying Martin and Jack won't be going anywhere. Said that the club has helped out Martin in more ways than many know of and Jack will never walk, it's all just purely negotiating for best deal possible.

Lance Franklin delays deal for Richmond star Jack Riewoldt

THE Lance Franklin contract saga is delaying a new deal for Richmond star Jack Riewoldt.

Franklin and Riewoldt are both out of contract at the end of the season and share the same manager, Liam Pickering.

Franklin is in the sights of GWS, which is prepared to offer the Hawthorn spearhead as much as $12 million over six years.

Complicating negotiations is the fact the Giants are also interested in Riewoldt, who would be a strong Plan B if Franklin decides to stick with Hawthorn.

"My management same as Lance Franklin so they've got bigger fish to fry at the moment," Riewoldt told Gold FM today.

The dual Coleman Medalist said he hadn't received any offers from other clubs, but was not in a hurry to sign a new contract with the Tigers.

"If the deal gets done, it gets done, if it takes a couple of extra weeks then I'll hang around.

"If the deal can get done I'll be there, signing on the dotted line."

Riewoldt said he was one of several high-profile Tigers coming out of contract, including Dustin Martin and Alex Rance. He also listed Trent Cotchin and when it was pointed out that the skipper had signed a contract extension to the end of 2015 a month ago, Riewoldt said "I think Trent has (signed), but Alex and Dustin haven't, it's just a lengthy process."

What absolute tripe, what the hell does Buddy have to do with it  :huh

Does Jack seriously expect us to believe that Liam Pickering is unable to undetake any other negotiations besides Buddy and cannot do more than one deal at a time therefore leaving all his other paying clients in limbo

And besides Buddy has said he's not interested in talking contracts until season end, so wouldn't Liam actually have some spare time right about now  ;D

Richmond

IF .......... Jack and Dusty don’t re-sign soon …

THEN ..... this club's ability to allow itself to be affected by things that shouldn't matter may kick back in.

Everyone is waiting to see how much is left in the overall pie after Buddy goes or stays. If Buddy stays at Hawthorn then others will have greater leverage to play with in their own contract negotiations.

In any case. it's hard to see either Jack or Dusty heading north. Why, after doing all the hard yards and years to finally be apart of a young up and coming side heading towards finals and success, would you join GWS to repeat the whole painful experience and spend the next 4-5 years playing in losing teams. Add to that you'll be playing in front of tumbleweeds as opposed to playing in regular big games at a packed MCG.

I think what he means is that if Franklin were to knock back GWS they would come at Riewoldt with most of that 12 million over 6 so he won't sign until that gets sorted.

Must say I wouldn't have expected anything different from a me merchant like Jack.
