ON THE BLOCK:
Brandon Ellis was substituted out of the heavy loss to the Roos with concussion. He must pass tests this week but should be deemed fit to face the Suns. Nick Vlastuin returned but struggled to have an impact, while Matt Dea didn’t have his best day. Orren Stephenson will only survive if Maric doesn’t come up.

ON THE CUSP:
IF Damien Hardwick wants a good, solid big-bodied midfielder to strengthen his engine room against the young Suns then Shane Tuck is his man. The veteran collected 30 disposals for Coburg in the VFL and again impressed with his attitude and leadership. Luke McGuane booted a pair of goals while Maric is an outside chance of returning from a groin strain. Houli said on Sunday he should be fine to return for Multicultural Round.

SAM LANDSBERGER’S FORECAST:
PAUL Roos reckons the Tigers played the worst 47 seconds in footy history 12 months ago when they somehow squandered a lead against Gold Coast in Cairns. The Tigers are 0-2 against the Suns at the tropical spot and Saturday will end their deal to play home games up there for good. If it ends in another loss the Tigers will lose a huge chunk of credibility – and it could spell trouble with Sydney (away) and Hawthorn to follow.

Thank god. We may as well put Nahas and McGuane back in as well.

For my money if Tuck doesn't play this week they can stick their club up their back side. Arnott should be in as well. We were as weak as urine last week. My grandmother has more fight in her and she's been dead 3 years.

Any idea how they do the concussion test?

All the players do the test prior to the season IIRC to calibrate their "normal" state. So when they do the test again after suffering concussion, the doctor can compare and see if the player has suffered any ill effects from a knock to the head.
