I wonder how many of these points have been rushed behinds and defensive bumblings created by our improved forward defensive pressure this year?

I don't think he's a horrible player. Sure he's not Cyril Rioli but he's kicked 17 goals (2nd for Richmond). We don't want him to be our 2nd best forward but I feel he brings a ferocity to our forward line that is lacking when he's not there. He had a 4 goal haul against Geelong, and 3 against Port.

I feel the expendable forward would be Aaron Edwards. He's only kicked 3 goals from 5 matches (I won't include GCS as he was used as a defender). Bring in the beanstalk I say.

Thought King is actually pretty accurate in front of the sticks
didnt he have one of the best conversion rates in the league, according to an article a few weeks ago?
deledio has stuck stunk it up pretty bad with his set shots recently, though.

Deledio has always been a better shot on the run.
King's conversion rate is better than Jack's IMHO.

17.9 or something now. Always thought Deledio was a little shakey from set shots but outstanding on the run.

I feel both Deledio and Martin are exceptionally accurate on the run (and even +50m from goal) yet the set shots are a bit iffy. I wonder why.....

Kingy was asked about our poor goalkicking on Radio Sports National yesterday ....

AUDIO: http://www.rsn.net.au/audioplayer/1373932425.mp3

* Our goalkicking has actually let us down enormously. All our forwards have had the opportunity to kick goals and, for some unknown reason, have just shanked them that little bit. Dimma sat us down and he really gave us no option, but to get our backsides into gear and make sure we start kicking it through the big sticks, otherwise he’ll find someone who will.

* We do goalkicking quite a bit at training, so I think it’s more of a mental thing these days.

* I’m going to try and put the goalkicking away for a week and just go out and enjoy training and enjoy the game.  Hopefully, that will work.

* But we need to do something about it because, at the moment, whatever we’re doing to try and kick those goals isn’t working. Whether the boys need to go back and do the basics with their routine, or change up their routine, we need to do something because you need to make the most of your opportunities and kick the goals when you get the chance.

Maybe the forward coaches should introduce the Kennedy Shimmy

All season long it has been an issue
14.22 Carlton
14.15 & 17.17 St.Kilda
17.19 Dogs
15.16 Melbourne
Adding the last two weeks where we have kicked combined 14.35.

In nearly half our games we have wasted chanced to win by greater margins.
We were never in the hunt last week.

And all last year too >>

Rd 2 vs  Coll   8.16
Rd 4 vs Geel  9.11
Rd 8 vs Ess  15.19
Rd 11 vs Freo  9.12
Rd 12 vs GWS  11.20
Rd 15 vs Melb  13.23
Rd 17 vs Nth 14.15
Rd 20 vs Ess  13.24

Big issue with the tiges. Will cost us badly one day.

Our kicking is crap hands down but our new AFL/rugby game will see the end of FF's kicking over a 100 goals per season and also of clean scoring.
gotta agree.

geez when your small forwards have skills like king nahas white  and s edwards your in a world of pain. imo s edwards is the best of the lot of em  see ya later to the rest eh.
its been said ad nauseum we have to improve on these types who lack POLISH or remain mired in the middle of the ladder.

We need a Jack Gunston. Geez almighty if only we had a small forward capable of his conversion....
gunston is a tall geez 193cm means if he can add size he will eventually play kpp. hes hawthorns much better version of a edwards

i love their forward set up
franklin roughead and gunston the leading third tall. with  bruest rioli  sniffing the packs and applying pressure. now theres some real quality and its what we need to aim at.
