1/ Shaw has to agree to go to GWS
2/ Adams has to nominate Collingwood as his preferred destination
With his bro living in syd, I don't think he d have too many problems with this deal

Essendon also in the market for young Giant Adams

By Callum Twomey and Nick Bowen
afl.com.au
6:34pm AEST Wednesday, September 25, 2013

ESSENDON met with Taylor Adams last week as the out-of-contract Greater Western Sydney midfielder makes a call on his future.

Although Collingwood and Richmond are believed to lead the race for the 20-year-old, AFL.com.au understands he met with the Bombers to discuss a possible move to Windy Hill.

The Bombers could have salary cap space to chase Adams if, as expected, half-forward Stewart Crameri leaves the club for a long-term contract at the Western Bulldogs.

Essendon had offered a three-year deal to Crameri.

But the Bombers are seen as only an outside chance to secure the Victorian if he chooses to leave the Giants, given the club was stripped of its first two picks at the NAB AFL Draft.

If Adams departs GWS, the Magpies (pick 10) and Tigers (pick 11) hold draft selections which could make a deal more achievable.

AFL.com.au understands Adams is yet to receive a new contract offer from the Giants despite playing 31 games in his first two seasons.

Greater Western Sydney's major focus as October's trade period approaches is on its bid to land Hawthorn free agent Lance Franklin.

Franklin deal squeezing Adams out: Lucas
Brett Anderson
SEN
6.34PM  25-9-2013

Homesick GWS Giants midfielder Taylor Adams’ manager Scott Lucas has told SEN that he has received interest from most Victorian clubs.

Adams has indicated his wish to return to Victoria with Richmond, Collingwood and Melbourne considered the frontrunners to secure his services.

“Most [Victorian clubs] are interested,” Lucas revealed.

“He was open-minded [to staying in Sydney] for a long time. We waited on the negotiation just to see how he adjusted to life in Sydney.

“They’ve [GWS] got other irons in the fire that they deem a higher priority than Taylor Adams, so in the best interests of our client we gather interest from other parties.”

Lucas said that any potential deals involving GWS will be held up until they receive a definitive answer from Hawthorn superstar Lance Franklin.

“A lot for GWS rests on what Lance Franklin does – I think that they’ve tied up an amount of their salary cap based on him coming and that’s their plan at the minute.

“If that was to fail, I’m sure the deck of cards would shuffle very, very quickly.”

Whilst Lucas said that Adams didn’t have a preference for which club he would like to go to, he said that the ability to get a deal done can depend on a number of different factors.

“When you sit down and do it, there will always be a preference for where a player wants to go, but a really important consideration for the player, the club that is his preference, and the club that currently holds the rights to him, is the ability to get a deal done,” he said.

The Tigers remain in the hunt for Giants midfielder Taylor Adams. Adams is out-of-contract with Collingwood having already tabled a big offer. Despite this it is believed that Richmond are his club of choice. Although not as explosive as Martin, the 20-year old would be a more than adequate replacement.

I didn't realise Dusty had left the club :wallywink
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Brett Anderson from Inside Football:

@Jonesracing82 - "at this stage, where do you think T.Adams will end up?"

@BrettAndersonIF - "Gut feel...Pies. Just think they are better placed to get a deal done and have more cap room. Things can change though."

@ukeepa - "hi brett can the tiges fit Adams in with Martin ? "

@BrettAndersonIF - "Will be a stretch and their ability to get a deal with GWS done may be an issue."
