Would be disappointing to lose Conca.

If that happens, we should take Pick 6 and on trade our Pick 11 for Taylor Adams.

Gain:

Pick 6 & Adams

Lose:

Conca (Pick 6 in 2010) & Pick 11

With that pick we draft best contested midfielder.

Conca for Adams and a 2nd rounder?

Play hardball and only want a 1st round pick and Adams.

I am sick to death of the situation regarding Martin and Conca. Sign them up. They are players for the future. They are required

I ubderstand the whole quality for quality arguement, but considering we finished half a game outside the top 4, I dont think trading a top 10 player (houli) for Adams. Unless Adams can be guaranteed a top 5 player by year 2 - I dont see how it helps our tilt for a premiership.

I get the feeling that a direct swap to GWS for Adams will be unlikely. GWS want experience and there would be very few players that we would be willing to trade. Maybe Foley. But its a small negotiation frame as far I am concerned, will have to require a third club.

yep, as someone else has mentioned on this site, Essendon will want to trade into the draft and have the type of surplus players that GWS may be interested in ie Bellchambers, Ryder. Say our pick to GWS adams to us, our pick onto Essendon and bellchambers to GWS.

:banghead :banghead :banghead Why would we on trade Bellchambers for Adams. Would be absolutely unforgivable to not take Bellchambers instead of Adams if we had the choice

Eddie Betts will renew talks with Carlton this week over whether he stays with the Blues or pursues significant offers from Adelaide and North Melbourne.

The Blues will also consider Chris Yarran's future, with West Coast understood to be interested in securing the former West Australian running player.

Carlton is believed to be interested in North Melbourne's key defender Luke Delaney, who has been starved of opportunities at Arden Street behind Scott Thompson and Nathan Grima.

Nick Duigan, Jeremy Laidler, Shaun Hampson and David Ellard will be delisted or traded, with no decision made on the future of Heath Scotland.

Sydney’s Jesse White and Essendon’s Scott Gumbleton will also be strongly considered by the Blues, with Brisbane forward Brent Staker another potential target.

Dale Thomas will find his way to Carlton barring a late surge of interest from cashed-up rivals including Hawthorn. The Pies have all but conceded they will be without Thomas next year given five-season offers for the restricted free agent which could go as high as $700,000.

Bc we're getting Ryder   :shh

In all seriousness, it comes down to what $$$ we can offer bellchambers compared to GWS and if they legitimately want him, we won't be able to compete in terms of offers

We might be trumped by the Pies though with the same senerio.Adams apparently is visiting the Westpac centre on Thursday.Pies will have 2 picks(10 & 11..Compo pick for Thomas) ahead of ours.

St Kilda is chasing Bomber David Myers.

Essendon has re-signed ruckman Tom Bellchambers.

The Bombers now seem long odds to match a pitch for Nick Dal Santo given their tight salary cap and his salary demands. It means North Melbourne remains firmly in the box seat to lure Dal Santo.

Hawthorn has removed its contract offer to Lance Franklin from the negotiating table and begun to envisage a future without its champion forward.

Fairfax Media understands the most recent offer to Franklin was removed at the end of July after the player failed to respond to a club-imposed deadline. While Hawthorn holds some hope that Franklin will stay, any potential deal could be reduced from that withdrawn some seven weeks ago.

With Greater Western Sydney claiming it has been equally frustrated by Franklin's refusal to make a decision until the end of the season, neither club appears any wiser regarding Franklin's plans. The Giants are pushing Franklin's management for an answer as it sizes up a number of targets, including Dustin Martin and Sam Fisher.

GWS' five-year offer was reportedly increased to six years, although the Giants have refused to speculate publicly on a deal reportedly worth about $1.3 million annually before third-party agreements.
