Possibly his best game for us. It was really refreshing seeing us get first use of the ball more often. If Maric needs a rest to keep fresh I'd say play Hampson again

Agree, it was wasnt it, seems Hampson really knows where to put the ball for our centres. He also presented very well, marked very well moved very well and really got around the ground. I noted he was also kicking the ball more and hitting targets, something that was lacking in his game before as he was always looking for the handball. Had he kicked that goal he would really would have topped his night off.

Thought he was good in the ruck contest

Still shocked at the number of marks he took

If he gets a gig next week, he needs to back it up

Pleasantly surprised with his game.  The challenge will be if he can keep it up if he plays again.

Unbelievable effort really -considering he hadn't played in the VFL for weeks.

If he hadn't played like such a potato last year , I would be highly encouraged .

Can Hammer back it up ?

I thought his disposal was the thing that let him down last night TBH.

Still, like others, I was pleasantly surprised, particularly his second efforts after the ruck and his work around the ground. It was refreshing to see a Richmond Ruckman actually get off the ground in the ruck contests  :P

A fair bit of improvement is needed still, but that was better than what he has been dishing up.

Went very very well, should shut the haters up for one more week. :clapping :clapping :clapping

I don't get it. It took you years to get on the Edwards band wagon but one good game for Hammer and your all over it, actually you rated him before that.

Saying that Clunkson played very well. In fact he had a better performance than I can recall Maric having all year IMO. Deserves to stay in next week whether Maric comes back in or not.

Hampson on SEN ...

AUDIO: https://audioboom.com/boos/3361917-1116-sen-footy-shaun-hampson

* The coaches have been as good as they can be about it. They said I’m doing everything right and everything I can, I’ve just got to wait for my chance. And it finally came and it was against the old boys [Carlton]. It’s a great feeling. I don’t know where to from here but I’ll just keep doing everything I can.

* Choco  Williams has been really good for us taller players the last couple of months. We’ve had sort of specialised Choco training, which isn’t always fun. His extra work during the week is tough but it’s really paying off for the bigger players like myself, Vickers and Griff as well.  We’ve got to keep sticking with it.

* The body’s good.  I had a little cleanout on the knee two weeks ago because that was causing me a bit of trouble. It freed it up even more and I’m moving really freely out there.

He got 1 coaches association vote! We should consider playing this guy as first ruck vs the saints and maybe have Maric as the back up ruckman/fwd to account for Vickery?

Played his role last week and would be unlucky to be dropped.
Would suggest using him again this week as the main ruck and either give Maric another rest or perhaps finding a role for Maric in this week's side.

May be a bit too slow with the two big men on the dry track that is Etihad.

Maric, Hamspud & Thomarse in for Edwards on a fast, dry track against a quick, young side?

Sounds like something Hardwick would do.....
