Oct. 2, 2013Richmond is interested in recruiting Carlton forward/ruckman Shaun Hampson, who will meet the Tigers soon.
Richmond has confirmed an interest in Hampson, whom the Tigers can see fitting a specific need for a forward who can also play in the ruck.

Greater Western Sydney also has some interest in Hampson, who was unable to cement a regular position in Carlton's best 22 this year under Mick Malthouse, playing only six games, partly because of injury problems, but also because he had slipped to No.3 behind Matthew Kreuzer and Robbie Warnock among the Blues' big men.
The Tigers said on Tuesday evening that they would complete their ''due diligence'' on Hampson in the coming days as the AFL trade period begins. They want to do a medical on the 201-centimetre Hampson, who has had knee problems the past two seasons. GWS and Richmond have informed the Blues of their interest in Hampson.
Richmond has a tight salary cap, having just re-signed midfielder Dustin Martin.
Hampson is contracted for 2014 and while the Blues are willing to let him go, there would need to be what they consider fair compensation.
