Faith in our development or poor trading?
« on: October 21, 2013, 12:42:16 PM »
Which is it? What is the mainreason we have been so quiet during this free agency and trade period -

Is the reason because -

1) We are confident in the players we have on the list and in particular the youth. We are sure that our development coaches can enable them to reach their potential and we have the players at our club to fill all roles now, in the future and in case of injury

or

1) we had no currency to trade, no ability to lure opposition players and no interest in landing a player we would have to pay overs for?

We needed another mid and forward. Adams, Chappy and Hampson would've been ideal.

And then we realised there's a salary cap.  >:(

We have very little to trade that has any currency and that we can live without.

I don't even think we were interested at going hard, that's obvious and has been said, we only wanted Hampson by the look of it.

Think we should of thrown a few more names around, I hope certain people at the RFC are not delusional in thinking we have completed our team that will challenge for the cup. finals yes but we are still a few very good players away from the GF.

Must go harder next year and trade or get FA players into the side.

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

"Rucks:
Shaun Hampson is the No.1 man"

We did. Doesn't justify paying Adams 100k a year more than Conca or paying Chapman 300k for 2 years.

I was on the Chapman bandwagon until then. Now we wait and see how McDonough goes and maybe bring in Nathan Gordon with a late pick whose ready-made.

I've been told Foley was shopped but clubs baulked. Apparently due to his contract. Where's Coach?  ;D

We already lack a bit of pace and you think we can live without Lids?

Unfortunately you have to pay the price to get a player with talent

We've lost McGuane and White for nix , gained nothing  ( well Hampson if you want to count him ) and now have only one decent pick in the national Draft.
That's a total fail for mine.

Collingwood on the other hand have shown us how it's done. They've let go an ageing , disruptive , ill disciplined player and an perma injured list clogger and have gained Jesse White , Taylor Adams and pick 6 and 10 in the draft.

We got pantsed !
