We were outcoached, outplayed and outclassed - terrible night.

They knew exactly how to play the conditions - we did not. We fumbled, dropped marks and looked panicked throughout. Conversely, they were much more confident with the conditions.
They deconstructed our game plan beautifully, giving us no space to lead into, manning up and forcing us to kick long to a contest. They broke through our zone with pace and quick ball movement and had faith in their forwards to win the ball or at least lock the ball in their F50. Our backmen were continuously exposed one out from lack of pressure from our midfield and at the start of the game they were winning it out of the stoppages at will - a strength of ours usually.
I couldn't get over the amount of times these 4th year players were out bodying and beating our more experienced players in almost every one-on-one contest across the ground. We seemed slow and exhausted.
Worst Players imoVickery keep getting lead to the ball, giving away frees and dropping marks. He was well beaten on the night.
Foley offered absolutely nothing when he was brought into the game. He could have been the difference with fresh legs and them with none sub but he was invisible.
Petterd offered no run or as a target
Ellis, Conca & McDough were unsighted and beaten
Best Players imoCotchin by the legth of a country mile. Worked all night and ran his &^%$ off to try and create a target and generate drive.
Lids & Martin had cameos
Vlaustin was out best player early but was tagged as the game went on
I think we would have won this game if we played in Melbourne but the worrying trend for mine is how we just can't play in humid conditions and when the space is taken away from us we have no plan B. Thomas, Hampson and Griffiths did a reasonable job for their first game but unless we are playing on a larger ground I'm no sure we can play Vickery, Jack and Griffiths in the same forwardline. I would rather just the two and have more smaller targets that can lock it in.
We really missed King and Jackson for the spunk and poise they offer - can't believe I'm saying that. Our midfield looked ordinary too which I'm not sure was because of our ruck work, their midfielders or the conditions.
We looked all at sea and unless we turn it around quickly we will be listening to 'Da, Da, Da, Da, Da...We are the Navy Blues' after our next weeks game too

Morris was injured early but never stopped trying.
