Couple of great goals tonight plus a gimme.

New standard or just another occasional cameo?

If he kicks a couple like those two every week he's a keeper. We'll see

disagree. surely we have learnt by now its not all about the goals. its about the overall role. i look and think almost invisible for way too many periods despite the two goals.
one other thing the commentators on telly may well talk him up but imo he lacks poise  pace and polish for a player in his role. as you say we"ll see but for me i just dont see it.

Could have added a few more goals, has a knack for getting to good positions. Should have kicked it to him more when yarran was on him since yarran can't defend.

Watched him a bit closer last night and was disappointed in his 2nd & 3rd efforts.  Compared to Morris who is defensively excellent as a forward, Lloyd doesn't put anywhere enough pressure on when he isn't directly in the contest.  Happy with his output re: goals but needs to work much harder without the ball if I'm going to be sold on him.

That goal he kicked from 50 showed poise and polish!!

This is a hard - valid points from both sides. That goal he kicked from 50 was all class and tipped me in favour of his game but he needs to work on the defensive side of his game to be a permanent fixture
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Adds a nice balance up forward Riewoldt Griffiths and Lloyd are a good balance in the roles they play. I hope that Butler will show something in the reserves and he can go into our forward line as well, we lack a speedy forward, we have Edwards who can do it but if Butler comes on in development he will be a real bonus.

Lloyd has footy smarts and is selfish hence he got three goals tonight. One from advantage from the Morris holding free in the second. You know what small forwards usually are a little selfish and I for one don't mind it. We need some players to be selfish and direct in their actions rather than too much overuse.

Look at the Dusty argument he is 50 out on the run and he passes it to 30 out deep in the pocket rather than kick it a country mile through the big sticks.

All present valid arguments on this one but I reckon we need him or Gordon to play that role if Morris is going to be that defensive forward. Gordon has pace but if we can get 40-50 goals between Lloyd and Gordon then any Morris gets will be a huge bonus. :thumbsup

agree claw, should have looked at garlett can play! but as is so often the case fans don't give the respect to opposition players bc they're opposition players. Recall many on here laughing at those who thought garlett would be handy

It's about how we line up against the given team on the day.
Probably should use him against the shittier sides for the next couple and
see if he achieves consistency.
Hard to justify giving him the arse after 3.
Caracella and Balmey.
