According to Jon Pierik on Footyology tonight:

Sam Lloyd is out of contract and he and his manager want to get a new deal done sooner rather than later. However, Richmond want to put off talks until later on in the season.

Great.

Probably the best forward we've drafted since Riewoldt (F me I know) and we wanna trade the kid?

He's the mid/short lead-up forward we've been looking for. Once Rioli gets some meat on him we'll only be short another decent tall forward and we'll have something resembling a friggin forward line...

Right now he's probably the next best expendable player after Edwards.

I think we'd get something useful for Houli, Vickery, B. Ellis, Lennon.

Then something less useful for McBean, Astbury.

Trade for picks, trade multiple picks for bigger picks to teams with academies.

Lloyd is very likeable and has obviously been a natural forward from day one which is also nice. He's a much better overall package he's fit and not fat now

However when everyone is fit you could play deledio or cotchin in that role an get an improvement ?

Is Lennon a better prospect ? (If te coach and development were less dumb). It's interesting you'd prefer Lloyd over Lennon. Fair enough, but lennon a hardly been given a good run at it.

Short is in trouble

Nobody, it's just a melodramatic response to conjecture...

Sign him for 5 years and try him in the back pocket?

Seriously though he is good, provides a great option
And has a bit of go,  I think 2 years is fair.

I guess the only thing that freaks me out is that we have a solid looking player here and I don't trust this list management team to get it right if they trade him out.

Personally I think they should all lose their jobs.

Like Lloyd. Good skills, brave, kicks goals takes a mark etc

I would consider trading him as he potentially has trade value now. Lids will ultimately move forward if the club gets its midfield recruitment/development together. We already have Sheds (who i rate higher than lloyd and we have a rioli in the ranks. I do like lloyd but we cant keep them all and if it means we can get an improved pick to add midfield depth i would go down that path.

There's clearly a lot of people who try to hard to think out of the square.
I see moving Lloyd on as just ridiculous banter.
Caracella and Balmey.
