Delisted kid from expansion club
Dunno if it fits the moneyball definition

Why its 'moneyball' in buying low.

Its not in the same category IMO as your Houlis, Thomas, Griggs, Hampson that are not in the Miles age bracket

Hardwick admitted he had not expected Anthony Miles to have the impact he had since coming into the side. He continued his stellar form against Port with a 28-disposal performance.

“I didn’t, I’ll be honest, he’s an incredible competitor,’’ he said.

“You have got to love those players that continue to surprise you at every level, he has done it all his career. The ability to win the hard ball can never be underestimated and that’s what he does really well ... he just keeps getting it done.

“He has been really impressive for us.’’

That comment infuriated the crap out of me. He clearly pays no attention to the VFL and is oblivious to the efforts McBean, Arnot, et al are putting in to try and get a senior appearance.

Also I found it interesting that Ken Hinkley went in his posit match presser that when players earn a spot on the seniors he wouldn't go chopping and changing on the back of a stand alone bad performance because he views stability in a team is very important

Finally we have picked up a real gem of a player at no appreciable cost, about time the recruitment Gods are on our side. Need to find another couple at years end.

My sons favourite player. Top kid to chat to as well. An upgrade on Thomas imo. Coupled with Cotch they are tough to match up on with their inside/outside run  :thumbsup

I went back not long ago and you were on the Thomas wagon and were happy when he was elevated instead of Miles

Average. Mr Hardwick only picked him six times.

Rank   Player   Team   Games   Clearances for Last Game   Total
1   Gary Jnr Ablett   Gold Coast   15   3 v Collingwood, Round 16   118
2   Callan Ward   GWS   16   7 v Fremantle, Round 17   116
3   Thomas Liberatore   Western Bulldogs   16   9 v Gold Coast, Round 17   114
4   Josh P. Kennedy   Sydney   16   12 v Carlton, Round 17   109
5   Ben Cunnington   North Melbourne   16   7 v St Kilda, Round 17   104

2014 AFL League Clearances Per Game Leaders (Minimum 4 Games Played)
Rank   Player   Team   Games   Clearances for Last Game   Average
1   Gary Jnr Ablett   Gold Coast   15   3 v Collingwood, Round 16   7.9
2   Callan Ward   GWS   16   7 v Fremantle, Round 17   7.2
3   Thomas Liberatore   Western Bulldogs   16   9 v Gold Coast, Round 17   7.1
4   Josh P. Kennedy   Sydney   16   12 v Carlton, Round 17   6.8
5   Anthony Miles   Richmond   6   8 v Port Adelaide, Round 17   6.5
5   Ben Cunnington   North Melbourne   16   7 v St Kilda, Round 17   6.5

I concur its impressive. In decent company with Ablett, Libba, Kennedy, Ward, Cunnington. Was tagged by Cornes last game, too.

I love how he hits players up from the center of the ground and goes long down the middle.  This is how you win games of football.  Not hugging the pockets.

I am not able to watch reserves and am suspicious of high stats in reserves but I do read what reliable posters who go to reserves say and he was a stand out.
So WAT if by "we" you mean our reliable OER molls who watch the 2's then fair enough.
