Nope. He’s irrelevant to our next flag
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I’d take him back for depth, offer a 2027 4th rounder and get it done  :lol

It couldn't be worst than Samson surely....but surely he wouldn't come back as he still won't get a game.

He's guaranteed some games IMO. Nank is aging, often sore, Sims too young, Ryan sucks, OHB probably won't make it etc.

Hmm, a 30 year who played 9 senior games in the last 2 seasons?
No thanks.
If we wanted ruck insurance over and above our existing stocks then I’d do what the Blues and Dees have done this week with much younger and relatively untried talent.
I remember a team which done something similar about 9 years ago and they went on to win a few flags…

"I would be a big no on Ivan Soldo. I wouldn't touch him if I am another club. He has been the worst recruit Port Adelaide have ever had. If you're a team looking at him, do not get seduced."

- Kane Cornes strong on Ivan Soldo

I mean...we fleeced them in the trade, but it's not like they haven't had worse recruits lol.

Rory Atkins managed a staggering 3 games before retiring this year...

Rory Atkins was a throw in
Cost them next to nothing

Factoring that in and what Soldo cost them, Soldo was the worse recruit for sure

Bring out your inner journo, I am antagonising the Cornhead.

Soldo isn't the worst recruit.

Maybe the worst trade deal though :D

Question for you - which of the following hypotheticals would be the worse “recruit”

Player 1 - traded in for a first round and future first round .. play 6
32 games for the club without being a star

Player 2 - traded in for a third round pick and only manages 6 games before being delisted

By your theory player two is the worse recruit. I disagree a million percent. Player 1 is clearly the better “player”, but is a worse recruit in my mind.

Player 2.

Because a recruit to me is just a player who walked into the club. No price tag.

Nothing to do with the deal or the capital that was paid to get them in the door. That's what constitutes the 'deal'.

So by most metrics I would argue Soldo isn't the worst recruit who ever pulled the jumper on. But definitely has a case going for him being one of the worst deals given the high price for the pissant return.

And because I hate Port I hope they never forget we gift-wrapped them steaming one.

I think not all depends on how you define 'worst'.  After all, Port is the club that did recruit (draft) Kane Cornes ...      :P
