Who is another free agent that could replace Rance from another club. I am confident on Martin but Rance has me worried.

In all reality he is worth $550-$600k a year to us to stay. That should be the offer. Nothing more.

why ramps? I dont agree at all. I say pay him him 700k750k and martin also.

back end the first year of the contracts, then say goodbye to grigg, newman, foley and thomas replace them with rookies and away you go.

Hold onto your players who can win you a flag and get rid of the ones that are rubbish

I judge based on where the player sits in terms of clubs best players. Rance is quality but he is below Deledio and Cotchin and Deledio is said to have signed for about $650k a year. IMHO we cant afford to lose Rance, lose Rance and the defence goes to crap.

Relax - if he goes to Fremantle, they'll give us Silvagni and if goes to Hawthorn we get Spangher.

Do you reckon Freo might get Kepler Bradley out of retirement so we can get him in place of Rance?

ive heard rance has been offered 850k over 5 yrs.

He's worth a bit more than $170k per season.
I would imagine that 850k each year for five years is just as far fetched?

As a free agent probably not.

Fremantle are tight lipped on continued speculation that Richmond’s All-Australian defender Alex Rance is the Dockers’ latest big man target to bolster their ageing backline.

Dockers football general manager Chris Bond refused to comment as a “club policy” on contract matters and particularly with a player still committed to his home club.

Rance, 25, has put talks with Tigers officials on any new deal on hold and appeals as a possible replacement in Fremantle’s defensive lines for champion key backman Luke McPharlin when he retires at the end of this season.

Fremantle will also make a huge play for Richmond full-back Alex Rance who, The Australian exclusively reported last week, had postponed contract talks with the Tigers until later this year when he becomes a free agent.

“It’s such an important aspect of building your list, so you need to get it right,” Lyon said. “To this point it hasn’t worked (with Sylvia). That’s not to say it won’t work.”

Alex Rance says he's happy playing footy but contract call can wait until later in year.
