Rance was reluctant to discuss his contract on Tuesday, but would say only that he was concentrating on the pre-season.

“I am really enjoying training and I know I am a required player and wanted at the club. I will deal with that later in the year and the club has said that so I am happy doing what I am doing and we will let that take care of itself.”

Well the more it drags on the more I think he will go. This could go two ways and Rance needs to be careful too. He could come out all guns blazing, set the AFL on fire and produce his best footy which will push his price up. Or it could go vice versa and where does that leave all parties? Additionally if he is injured and its long term that could raise more concern.

I just wish it was sorted now because it will affect our season!!

It's easy to worry about your own players but for some reason I just don't think either will go. Martin would have gone last time when he would have been considerably cheaper but no one was interested, everyone knows what he is capable of in full flight, and didn't Rance's family just move over? Cloke, Dangerfield (last time), Boak have all put off talks and they stayed.

I will be pretty gutted if they do go though. Will be hard to watch yet another rebuild after seeing blue chips roll out the door.

Fact is Rance probably will go.

It's happening more and more and will continue to happen more and more.

But good clubs like Geelong and Hawthorn will both absorb good players leaving and attract the players they need.

Are we a good club? I'd say unlikely until we have a good coach.

Like I said I don't agree with people saying that about you.

At a the end of the day though what ever happens happens in this case has the potential to derail our season and at the end of the day if they leave we will be worse off. Honestly how many more rebuilds can we go through with no success?? While the other clubs leapfrog us..

Rance is irreplaceable. The best defender we've had for 30 years.
He's more valuable to us than Martin.
If push comes to shove re our coffers I know who I'd be showing the money to.
