What about Jack Lonie?

Being compared to Ballantine and god knows we need a goal sneak like that.

Said a while back I'd be interested in him with a later pick. Could be the small forward we need but I don't think we should be using a high pick on a player who personally I reckon won't make a good midfield pinch hitter and will be mostly confined to the forward line

Specialist small forwards have to be really outstanding like Rioli, Ballantyne, Betts or Milne to pay off these days IMO. If they can't rotate through midfield they're a liability more often than not.

Even saying that Rioli and Ballantyne can go through the midfield at times (don't watch Freo unless we play them :sleep :sleep but Rioli seems hit and miss in there). I could be wrong Lonie could go alright through the midfield but I wouldn't use 2nd rounder on him

He'd be a steel at 52 but from what I have seen he will be gone by then. Maybe it is time to invest a good draft pick on a decent small forward??

Drummond looks ok...

He looks ok but has no left foot, he also seems quick but is he really? he seems to lose metres when being chased by opponents in that video. Wouldn't want unless its pick 70 or something.

Hopefully Bomber is able to ask Stephen Wells who we should take and pass word on in preparation for when he takes over.

okay ive given up on us taking a tall with our first 3 picks.

at 33 if we are after pace my first choice here would be jackson nelson. this kid has real toe, great awareness, and just reads the play well. he plays h/b is a good size at 187/81 and should become a powerful player. i have little doubt he will become a good mid. but even if he doesnt he will be a very good rebounding defender who can do a job on his opponent.

cant believe the lack of love for this kid.

still looking for pace and dont like nelson

connor menadue and alex markov. both are tallish rangy players. at about 188cm. both really quick with good skills and lots of upside.

if looking for an inside machine the one im hoping slips is blakeley. really like this kid and i can see him going inside the top 20.

theres another 4 mids i lke around here and at the moment it about rating them in order. neil-bullen, cavka, mckenzie and maynard should be about the 33 mark.

Nelson looks like a good player too. Do you think he'll be around for our 3rd or 4th pick.

not likely imo.
has to be a top 25 pick imo. in some ways the lack of recognition and love for this kid reminds me of vlastuin the closer the draft got the more he  just didnt get mentioned.

if taking mids was the sole objective  i wouldnt hesitate to take nelson at 33.

the other kid who has totally fallen off the radar is watchman i sure as hell hope we are looking at talls as well as mids with 33  52 and 70.

I agree he will probably be gone by then. If we had of gotten an extra 1st or 2nd rounder we probably could of gone and used it on a decent small forward but honestly there aren't many good small forwards taken with early picks. Of course there was Ballantyne and Rioli who were taken early and Jamie Elliott was packaged for a first round draft pick but you look at the rest of the small forwards in the comp (unless I've missed some) and they were taken as late round picks (Lindsay Thomas) or in the other drafts (Garlett, Betts and Milne).

Would be a steal getting Nelson with our 2nd round pick. This kid has all the tools.

Howe and Webb highlight packages are both very good. Both good kicks and both know how to impact the scoreboard based on videos. Webb doesn't mind getting involved in traffic which is a good thing. I get the feeling we should have done more to get more picks in this draft.

Dean Gore the South Australian, he has some very good qualities that boy. He could be a really damaging midfielder down the track - a terrific size for a midfielder too.

Blaine Bokhorst from WA, he is speed machine that boy, could be fantastic running through the wings at the MCG. Knows how to kick a goal as well. Some of the kicking Im not sure he means but he hits targets and for someone whose running that quick that's not easy to do.

Why the stuff did we re-sign Chris Newman. The last few days where I have had some more time to look at the profiles and see some vision, it just seems like you could be finding good players well into the pick 50s (based on some of the phantom rankings)

The club took one kid last year. Lennon

Didn't trade for extra picks this year.
