pretty sure its the minimum when you elevate a rookie, or draft a player.

I believe you are correct Pen

Same rules as drafted players minimum 2 years as clubs use a Nat draft selection on their rookie promotions

Nope -  two-year minimum contract rule for national draftees only applies to players under the age of 23 who've never previously been on an AFL list.

Fair enough

Thought it applied to rookies in that they qualified because they had never been on a senior AFL list

Do we have to compare Shorty to Spew-up-olo ...    :-\
Ok then ... I've never seen Shorty stick his head under somebody's arm & stage for a free in front of goal.     :-\

There is a stat you missed- 3x Premiership player. Makes all the other numbers sound pretty stupid.

Judging him against Puopolo......why? I don't give a stuff about Puopolo. All i care about is Short becoming the player he knows he can become which will be great for the Tigers!

well deserved, lets just hope the new coaching team will teach him to be more defensively oriented. If he adds that to his game and finds the right balance between defence and attack, I am confident he will go on to become a very good player.

I know I keep banging on about this but Im sick of us producing the same sort of unaccountable release player from defence that hurts us defensively, Bowden, Newman, Houli etc - its clear theyve earmarked short for that role now with his elite kicking skills

Well stuff I guess that makes Mitch Morton and anyone else with a premiership medal better than anyone on our team. Puopolo must be better than GAJ too :gobdrop

Deserves a spot on the senior list given he progressed to play senior/AFL footy this year but, to be honest, I'm still not convinced he is a long term option. Early days for him though.

His best feature is his kicking. Currently the best kick in the side by a long way. If Lennon pulled a finger out (or was allowed to  :shh) he could take over that mantle.

I think he'd be valuable as a small/fwd. Crafty and crums the ball and as we all know he's a beautiful kick so if he goes up the ground a bit you can rely on him to at least put it to the forwards advantage in the F50. Funnily enough he kicks 3 goals on debut and is now a small defender :clapping. Wouldn't be too surprised to see that change though with the return of Houli, McIntosh and maybe Yarran.
