Should we really be in this position.

Nope.

Is it the reversal of last year when winning all those games we now limp out of the finals race.

Interesting weeks coming up.

Pies is a 50/50 proposition. Not sure why everyone's convinced that's a win

None of them are certainties.....

Gold Coast have been a bogey side for us and are full of naturally gifted, highly skilled youngsters and have a lot of pace. All the pressure will be on us. Also pretty sure Hardwick has never beaten Eade.

Collingwood had the wood on us for nearly a decade before this year and won't fear us at all. Still full of experienced big match players and have some quality kids. Still have a faint sniff of September themselves.

Essendon can suddenly pull a win out of their arse no matter how bad they're travelling, will have nothing to lose.

North just downright stuffing own us.

Old man dimwit will be feeling the pressure big time which should see Newman and Hampson continue to be selected

I'm more nervous than a ceiling fan storeowner with a comb-over about Gold Coast this weekend.

Who does your club want to play, and avoid, in the finals?

Herald-Sun
August 14, 2015 2:21PM

7. RICHMOND (44pts)

Run home: Gold Coast Suns (MCG), Collingwood (MCG), Essendon (MCG), North Melbourne (ES)

Projected finish: 6th or 7th

The best outcome for Richmond would be to pinch fifth spot and for GWS to sneak into the top eight — the Tigers have not lost to the Giants in their five encounters.

The next best scenario is a home clash against Adelaide, although the Crows did put a dent into the Tigers’ top-four hopes with an emphatic six-goal win last week at the Adelaide Oval.

The Tigers defeated the Crows by 38 points the last time the teams met at the MCG in 2013.

If it makes it through the first week Richmond would back itself against most of the top four teams. It has an excellent recent record against Hawthorn and Sydney, and the Tigers would fancy their chances against Fremantle after a stunning win in Perth in Round 10 and going within a disastrous Bachar Houli kick-in of knocking over the Dockers again three weeks ago.

West Coast is a bit of a dicier proposition. The Tigers lost to West Coast by 20 points at the MCG in Round 12, but they have won their past two away games against the Eagles.

The worst-case scenario is a match-up against Geelong in week one. Richmond hasn’t beaten the Cats in its past 11 attempts and has claimed the points in just one of their past 19 games against Geelong stretching back to 2000.

Only 10 teams left with a chance of making finals now after the Pies loss  ;D. The Swans weren't convincing and were lucky the Pies couldn't kick straight. At least Sydney didn't gain any percentage boost. Top 4 still a chance for us if we are good enough as Smokey said in the non-Rich game thread. First up though, we need to bounce back and get the job done tomorrow.

Today just shows you can't rely on other results going your way to make finals. We can only control our own destiny. Time to stand up and make a statement tomorrow, otherwise we'll be just making up the numbers again even if we fall into September.
