The club would like the ground to be the same dimension as the MCG, the Tigers' home ground, but the lack of space at Punt Road prevents such a move.

Punt Rd Resurface

Richmond’s famous Punt Road Oval is about to undergo a major facelift, with resurfacing and reconfiguration works bringing it to Etihad Stadium proportions in size. The support generated by the Club’s Fighting Tiger Fund has made this key project possible.

The redevelopment of Punt Road Oval will begin this week (week commencing June 18). Importantly, the new state-of-the-art surface will be completed in time for the start of the 2013 pre-season - the most critical time of the year for training. Once completed, the redevelopment will provide a major boost for the players’ training.

Tiger fans’ co-operation and understanding during this period will be greatly appreciated.

Why do they need our cooperation - do they think we all going to go down their whilst the work is happening, and start jumping up and down on Punt Rd holding up placards saying "Duds Out" or"Digglers Caravan Park Now Taking Bookings" Seriously!
