The crucial redevelopment of the Punt Road Oval surface has started, with the ground going “under the knife”.

Over the next few months, the oval will be resurfaced and reconfigured, to bring it in line with Etihad Stadium dimensions.

When you think about it, we have the jewel in the crown in Punt Rd.
Lots of coin to be made in extra activities for mcg fans on their way in.

Your dead on their.  We do need to use it somehow? A pub maybe, bar, restaurant?  I'd stop off after the game and wait a bit for the train crowd to clear

We're training here, there and everywhere while Punt Rd gets redeveloped --- Trinity Grammar, Carey Grammar, Fawkner Park, Victoria Park, Monash Uni (Clayton), Craigieburn .....

Richmond trained at Fawkner Park on Tuesday and the club is getting used to a somewhat nomadic lifestyle.

The team has been forced to train at different venues in recent weeks due to the redevelopment and reconfiguration of the Punt Road Oval.

But Grigg said the players were enjoying training at different venues.

"The boys have a bit of fun with it, training around the places.

"Obviously, the redevelopment is going to be a short-time inconvenience for a long-term gain.

"We’re really excited to have Punt Road the same size as Etihad (Stadium)."
