My question is Why have team rules if breaking them has no consequence?

That's why there won't be for our man Houli. Add to that the fact that these players are cotton wooled these days for fear of hurting their feelings

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

I'd  like to punch him in the face and hurt his feelings that way. Just saying...
All things aside, I had a 4 leg multi yesterday with Freeo to win as 1 of them. $1450 later..
Nice little bunsen burner!  :cheers

Some what of an oxymoron isn't it? expected to play a physical testing, emotional, "man's" game, to put it all out there!! BUT let's not hurt anybody's feelings if they deliberately go outside team rules. I still wonder if there is a place for "If you can't handle the heat then..." . How do sides get better and eliminate weaknesses if there are no consequences because of a players feelings.

I recon it goes deeper than that. The RFC are too scared to trade players out at the risk of hurting players feelings.
What is the bet we don't trade any of our players out at years end?
But we seriously need to if we are to take another step forward.

think you might be off the mark on that.

you cant trade a player if he doesn't want to go, something Hardwick has said a couple of times should be changed.

Im not sure if it has actually come from the club or is supposition, but it has been mentioned that they have had trades fall through because the player didn't agree to go.

this certainly seems to be a bugear of hardwicks, so id say there is fair chance it has happened.

I thought that was what the swear filter was for, to tone down the actual word being used so we could do it and get the point across?

Are you saying that we cant do that now? If not why don't you just create a filter that removes the word entirely??

This forum has been running for over 10 years. The rules about swearing have been there since day 1 and it is actually rule number 1

Quote
1.   No swearing or abusive language. The forum does have a “swear filter” and some people (like myself) are pretty lousy at typing but continually posting to test the filter will result in the member firstly being warned and then dropped to the “swear bench” for 7 days.

Only thing we don't do is swear bench for 7 days, we usually start at 48 hours, but thank you for getting me to find the rule for you. Think 7 days may be the right way to go, a first strike

Great idea thank you WAT  :thumbsup

I could post the txt I sent my sons straight after the game yesterday, discussing the umpires magnificent contribution to the contest.  That would give your swear filter a workout WP!!   ;D

what's the difference between typing stuff and having the swear filter change it to stuff, and just typing stuff, where you may actually mean stuff, or stuff ?
