It seems like Kreuzer has been offered up to $450k by the blues. He would have signed but Eddie McChin's mob offered way over that and has allowed Carlton to explore the option of a possible Band 1 compo.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

COLLINGWOOD could pull out of the race to secure Carlton free agent Matthew Kreuzer this week in a serious blow to the Blues’ hopes of landing the first two picks in this year’s draft.

The Magpies have given careful consideration to Kreuzer but are believed to have cooled on the idea in recent days due to the strength of their own developing ruck stocks.

Kreuzer’s character and leadership strengths appealed strongly to the Pies, but the recruiting move posed a threat to the development and security of their other blossoming big men.

It would also force the Pies to restructure some of their current player payments to fit Kreuzer in the salary cap.

Carlton, Fremantle, Sydney and Greater Western Sydney remain possible suitors for Kreuzer, 26, but a lucrative and long-term contract offer from Collingwood now appears unlikely.

Collingwood out of race for Matthew Kreuzer

Matthew Kreuzer's failure to satisfy Collingwood's medical team that his body would justify the massive four-year contract the Magpies had put on the table appears to have had a domino effect across the forthcoming trade period.

The Magpies have withdrawn the reported $2.4 million deal put forward to the Carlton ruckman, a contract offer  that had the Blues lining up for a generous compensation pick that could have become pivotal in the Magpies' Adam Treloar agreement. Kreuzer now seems almost certain to stay with the Blues.

Greater Western Sydney have also shown interest in Collingwood ruckman Jarrod Witts, who has insisted upon remaining with the Pies and is contracted.  That insistence also played a part in the Kreuzer back-off.

Carlton have  made two offers to Kreuzer this season and insist they want to keep their previously highly prized ruckman. The second, improved contract offer put to him was a highly conditional three-year agreement in late August. That guaranteed the 26-year-old about $1 million, but was worth significantly more should he play the majority of games over the next three seasons.

Kreuzer played 13 games in 2015 after managing just one last year.

The Blues believe Kreuzer was also tested by the Western Bulldogs and was unable to satisfy that club of his full fitness.

Stefan martin is 29 years old ... you guys need to stop being so desperate to just bring anyone in. Our next ruck has to be around the 25 years of age mark so we can get 6 or 7 years out of him.

This might hurt our chances with Treloar. Id say we can match the 750k but would be surprised if we could or would go more.

Ok, didn't realise that, yep agree. Don't want a 29 year old.

So Sydney can come up with 10mill over 3000 years and we can't come up with 750K?? :shh

yep no need for martin specially if his got what 2 years left. smith was going to be the next big thing until he did his knee that's the only thing I worry about ruckman and knees just as so much contact etc

I like it, need a big brute of a ruckman who can at least give a serious contest against the likes of Goldy, natanui and Sandi

I'm not 100% sure but what ever we did to Trengrove last year put him out for the season!
I'd say our medicos would soon find out if there were any issues with Kruezer :snidegrin
Would you say I have a plethora of piñatas...
