I know nothing about this kid but is he just another Nathan Gordon type?
To be totally honest from the little bit I have read about him, I think he is.
No real weapon by the sound of it. Tackling isn't even close to enough at this level.
"Big bodied mid" at 186cm he isn't big. Take a look at Cripps, Barlow, Mundy, Fyfe......

We need guys that are going to push players like Grigg, Houli, Chaplin, Hunt out of the side. Not players that might be simular to these types.

I'd rather take an unknown kid in the draft that potentially may become an upgrade of those "recycled" players I mention. They have all played a roll but it's time to upgrade everyone of them....and some.
We also need players who will compliment the likes of Cotchin and Miles. You wanty to keep going with Thomas and do absolutely nothing to upgrade on him  great.
Not sure why you would want to compare (a big bodied hard at it INSIDE mid who really can tackle, you would know that if you had seen him,)  with Grigg, Houli, Chaplin, and ffs Hunt.
Mate  186cm makes him a tallish medium sized player, at 89 kg combined with a height of 186cm  that makes him bloody  big bodied.

At pick 50 odd in what is being touted as one of the weakest drafts in recent memory  he is more than worth us looking at him.  You really aren't saying you would rather take a punt on a kid are you. Akid who will probably take 2 or 3 yrs just to bulk up  ad another two years to iron out the weaknesses.

Just a good fit, we love trying to manage injured players all year for no return and making them long term injuries. We have always done it, well before Knights or is your memory rose coloured as well.. :snidegrin :snidegrin

Heard he likes to throw a lot of windmills but his best trick is a smashing a guitar over his opponent's head.....

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

if we get him on the cheap then sure get him into the side. But why are we going for these 'tough big bodied' types? we have a few of these types in the team already. what we need is a classy speedster that kicks goals. I thought the lack of firepower we have when lids goes down would mean we would need another classy goalkicker

Who are these 'few' in the team already? Arnot - never really played inside mid. Thomas never really played but should have been. That's it?

sorry for late reply, weekend beekeeping. My point is that we have Thomas and Arnot in the sidelines. If a big bodied type is needed why not develop Arnot say 2 years ago? Or play Thomas more regularly? Or use Martin as a battering ram like the early part of his career. I don't think the tigers are too bad at the stoppages. but Geez sometimes I think our spread and run is beyond average.

I am not against picking this guy up on the cheap but I think the club really needs to look for fast/classy mids who can push forward to compliment Riewoldt, Lids, and Lennon.
