So does the Club ...

Richmond, likewise, expects a deal for young Greater Western Sydney inside midfielder Jacob Townsend is not far away, with the Tigers preparing to hand over one of their later picks.

“I know people out there who would probably be asking who’s Jacob Townsend. I think he’s probably a player like Anthony Miles,” Richardson said.

“We’ve been watching GWS clearly quite closely over the last few years – not only their AFL team, but also their NEAFL team.

“Look, we’ve made no secrets that we think a big-bodied, strong, powerful midfielder, with a bit of aggression, is somebody that ticks a real need for us.

“Sometimes out there, supporters, for sure, would say we want a bigger name than Jacob Townsend. But we tend to recruit more on need than name.

“We think that Jacob will provide the sort of midfield grunt that we need a little bit more of – in particular, to support the likes of Cotchin and these guys around the footy.”

We also need some better footballers....bigger names are bigger names because they're better footballers....ergo we also need some bigger names....

I can see for Miles

that Townsend will be a welcome addition to our inside midfield brigade.

As I said before, watched this kid play live a fair bit over the past 4 years. Has shown constant improvement. He is as tough as Miles but taller with more pace. Was swallowed up by high draft picks constantly coming into the club. When you have Ward, Treloar, Shiel, Greene, Griffin & Coniglio in front of you, its pretty hard to crack the 1's. Miles as we know was also a victim of this.
Had a foot injury which kept him out footy for the first half of 2015 but he got straight back into it in the NEAFL and became a tackling machine. I have no doubt he would be a regular starter for us in 2016 if we land him.

Especially if we can pick him up for doughnuts. 4th rounder for this kid and we're laughing all the way to the draft.

I'm warming to this guy now, must play round 1 though. Will also push Morris out of the team which makes me satisfied that this is a good deal.

Now a replacement for Batch... :snidegrin
