He got Higgins and Ziebell too, and he flies in at the centre bounce looking to kill someone almost every time!  :lol

I love the way Towner looks like he is absolutely stuffed, head bowed slightly, hands on hips sucking in the deep breaths, then as soon as his opponent is in range, he gives them a sharp bump, whack with a forearm or a hard shove.

You can see it really gets under the opposition's skin. Great to watch. Like in the Grand Final when he does it to Lever in the last qtr and Hartigan gets upset and gives Towner an elbow to the back. Towner pays him the perfect insult, he doesn't even slightly react. Hartigan looks basically like a twit, and is clearly not focussed on the job.

Reminds me of Hampson but without the action  after the "absolutely stuffed, head bowed slightly, hands on hips sucking in the deep breaths" bit

Towner is averaging a goal with every second kick.

Townsend’s extreme effectiveness

Round 22, 2017 v Fremantle, Domain Stadium – 10 kicks, 6 goals.

Round 23, 2017 v St Kilda, MCG – 9 kicks, 5 goals.

Qualifying final 2017 v Geelong, MCG – 2 kicks, 2 goals.

Preliminary final 2017 v GWS, MCG – 7 kicks, 1 goals.

Grand Final, 2017 v Adelaide, MCG – 4 kicks, 2 goals.

What is his contract status?

I thought I read his contract expires at the end of this season.

Yeah might be wrong but think he got one year

Would give him three and put Grigg, Houli and Eliss x 2 all on one year each

He's going to need to step it up over the next week or 2. There's huge pressure in our f50 on our small and medium forwards
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Would like to see Moore in team but I hope we can fit both Townsend and Moore in the team.

Townsend bring a lot of physicality to the game which I reckon helps or small forwards a lot. And if he does get a shot on goal, his composure is awesome.

Reckon this is what someone wanting to take his spot will need to bring to the team.

Like Moore a lot, he would give us the type of versatility in our forward line that we currently get from playing Broad down back
