Bradley.  :lol how bad was that draft albert. To think that the blues actually gave up a first rounder for a spud like mclean is incredible.

odds of moore coming good are very long but for one year why not. Lucky boy will most likely end up with 3 yrs.

McLean had a few good finals

at least one

Andrew Moore's player profile
portadelaidefc.com.au

2010:

Moore arrived at Alberton as part of a trade which saw Shaun Burgoyne depart to Hawthorn.
He showed great poise coming out of the backline and promised versatility as a player of the future.
Despite only playing seven games for the season, he showed much promise as a quality player before osteitis pubis saw him miss that majority of the year.

2011:

Andrew was again troubled by injury and only managed six games for the year.
He came to the club with the weight of expectation a first round draft pick carries with them and a big emphasis was put on him by the coaching panel to get his body right.
A bigger bodied midfielder, he showed glimpses of what he could offer the club in future years.

2012:

Having started the year in the SANFL, Moore was quick to dominate for the Roosters and found himself called into the Power for the club’s round 10 win over Carlton.
He showed an ability to win over 20 possessions on a regular basis and cleared the ball well from stoppages.
A hamstring injury against West Coast saw him sit out the last two games of the year but he certainly played himself into the Power’s starting 22.

2013:

Moore went back to the SANFL after playing Round 1 against Melbourne and worked his way into form worthy of a recall against Richmond in Round 7.
He was injured after the Power's Round 9 loss to the Cats but after returning in the Power's win over reigning premiers Sydney he played every game through until the club's semi final loss in September.

2014:

Moore was one of Port Adelaide’s high-impact players in the SANFL – where he spent around half the season after recovering from an early AC joint injury.
Injury upon his AFL selection in Round 11 proved another setback, but he managed to string eight elite games together – including three finals – from Round 19 onwards.
He remains one of the club’s important midfield runners and will set himself for a luckier 2015.

2015:

Moore is a valuable inside player who wins plenty of first possession, but he has the skills required to deliver on the outside as well. Quality player who will look to put a consistent season together in 2015.

At least it's only one year. Has all the motivation in the world to make it count. Probably better than what pick 88 would have netted us.
The other thing is that it makes it slightly more likely that we will pick Ah Chee rather than another inside mid.  :shh

Tigers snare Moore

Richmond has signed former Port Adelaide midfielder Andrew Moore as a free agent.

The Tigers secured the services of the strongly-built Moore on a one-year contract.

Moore, 189cm and 87kg, played 55 games and kicked 18 goals in a six-year career with the Power, with several injury setbacks along the way hampering his progress there.

He had initially been selected by Port Adelaide with its first pick (No. 9 overall) in the 2009 AFL National Draft.

The 24-year-old younger brother of former Richmond defender Kelvin Moore is renowned for his clearance and contested ball prowess, and ability to hit the scoreboard.

“We’re very pleased to be able to bring Andrew into the Richmond Football Club as a free agent,” said the Tigers’ General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson.

I expect him, pending (lack of) injuries, to be better than hunt, if that's any measure. Should play 10 -15 games.

Not convinced this a good signing, actually I think it is a bad one  :help

Hope I am wrong

But obviously he passed the medical they got him to take last week

But he is now a Tiger player so it's time to support him

How would we know?

He might be ok as a Matt Thomas like back up if we have injuries.

He'd know its last chance saloon so I'd it's not a bad thing to have a couple of these on our list - it comes down to whether he's the "right one"
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

If we are looking for a "Thomas" type why sign to the senior list? Why not take him as mature age rookie instead.

Think there are better FA options out there

The video of Moore shows he knows where the goals are under pressure and at distance.  I have a strange feeling they might use him as a pressure small forward to rotate through midfield.  Not so much as an in and under bloke.
