I heard a rumour prior to the game that he might not play. Still wonder if Dimma and the coaching/selection panel heard something along those line's hence their confidence in only going in with Nank to ruck.

With half a season set in stone, let’s take a retrospective look at what have turned out to become the best value pick up’s from the 2016 trade window.

The criteria is based on how well the player has performed thus far, relative to what the club gave up to land him.

Toby Nankervis: Traded from Sydney to Richmond for Pick 46

The former Swan was starved for opportunity until the Tigers came knocking with pick 46 for the 199cm big man.

Nankervis has provided plenty of value for Richmond, becoming the number one tall at Tiger Land.

Averaging 26 hit-outs across 10 games, 16 disposals including nine contested per game ‘Nank-the-Tank’ has been a pivotal part of his club’s success so far this season and will prove to be a key component to the Tigers’ line-up as the season progresses.

yep pretty impressive,  always expected to get the 1%ers and the crash bash which was badly lacking in the team  but to actually win so much contested ball.
Although big Ivan averaged 8 c/ps in both 2012 and 2014.Very similar players i think Nankervis has a bit more agility and a better mark.

5. Nank the Tank's first clash with Swans mates

As Richmond dominated early and Toby Nankervis served it up to former teammates Sam Naismith and Callum Sinclair, Wayne Carey suggested on Triple M that his old teammate, Swans coach John Longmire, might be ruing releasing the wrong ruckman. Nankervis was beaten in the hitouts but largely nullified the big Swans' effectiveness, particularly in the first half, and caused spillages that enabled the Tigers' running brigade to break away. The 22-year-old would have had a bigger impact in his 23rd AFL game had he not missed two regulation set shots – the first after the quarter-time siren from 30 metres, and the other from 40 metres early in the last quarter.
