Another disappointing performance IMHO.

1 mark  :help

Nank is Nank which I love, but I think maybe the game has changed and he isn’t up to the cut and thrust.

Doesn’t really add to our offence

Doesn't tap to advantage. Doesn’t take critical marks down the line (the crucial ones on the wing or at half back that help open up play for your speedsters)

And most disappointing is that he hardly take the marks in defence that he used to gobble up for breakfast

I’m not sure his toughness in the guts is enough.

We need to find a pure mobile ruckman that can take marks an can kick a couple

It's a huge problem and the sauce of our main issues.
His form has been horrible bad. When he is a captain there is no hiding him.

Wouldn’t mind if they made Biggie a ruckman for a future prospect.

Sheesh harsh crowd. Nank is not there to win ruck contests but break even and get to work when the ball hits ground which is something he has been huge at. At 199cm he is not going to dominate ruck contests which is why a player like Ryan needs to come on and take strides.
It is why they have tried to play Soldo with Toby but Soldo offers nothing outside of the ruck contest.

I do agree though Toby needs to take more marks around the ground and take a few contested ones as well.

For the life of me I cannot understand that when we win the tap the opposition rove to our tap. It happened against the dogs and is a common occurrence.

This style was very evident in the pies bris game until Brisbane started to punch the ball forward instead of tapping it. It changed the game for them.

Comments??

Well either Nank isn't rucking well or the mids aren't reading his taps well or both.

Drives me insane.

Really wonder if we should have just taken Grundy given Melb is only paying $600k of his wage.

Honestly you have to wonder if we'd have been better off retiring Jack + Cotch and taking on Grundy, getting games into guys like Sonsie, Clarke, Miller, Ryan instead.

I think this was the exact issue. English was everywhere absolutely thrashed him halved nothing all day. Our best period was when Ryan was in the middle.

Yeah I don't understand why trucks don't punch anymore. Bont Macrae Libbba and Smith are all better than any of our mids. Just belt it away from them.

Wow!! huge challenge for the group now. Miller will need to be first ruck with Ryan giving his assistance. Shame Biggie left the field injured on the weekend. The next month will be interesting.

You know it's bad when you're not even concerned about the loss of your captain and #1 ruckman..
