the club must have a tall in mind. Perhaps another nankervis type

They could but I doubt they would go into 2018 with Griffiths as a back up forward again.

Honestly would be shocked and disappointed for another year if we retain Griffiths.

Time to let go...

How about this deal?
Castagna to the Crows
Cameron to the Lions
Pick 18 to Tigers
Crows need a ready made replacement
We load up on first round draft picks
Use our plethora of small forwards to trade in the draft.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Don't think we're getting pick 18 for Castagna. Or 36 for that matter.

Only Port and Essendon have really gone for any players and they are players to strengthen weak spots on their lists and that's why they didn't have to fight anyone for them and why they have gone cheap.

This is a lame trade period. Looks like most teams are backing their own lists in and will hit the draft for next season.

nah watch what happens from here and in particilar from lunchtime today til lunchtime tomorrow.

apparently the trade holding up others is the Stringer trade. once this is done other clubs second priorities will fall into place and trades will get done. so it is claimed anyway.

Always trotted out as an excuse and complete BS.  90% of possible trades under discussion right now have no link at all to the Stringer trade

Harley Balic has been secured by Melbourne on a one-year contract after the club sent pick No.66 to Fremantle.

Harrison Wigg has been traded to Gold Coast in a deal that will see Adelaide get pick No.39 in this year's NAB AFL Draft.

The Crows have sent Wigg, pick No.54 and a future fourth-round selection to the Suns in exchange for pick No.39.

TheGas: Why are Tigers sitting on their hands cos they won the flag surely they can find a way to improve list?

Ricky Nixon: Not sitting in hands when half our VFL team is better than 50% of those traded.

Geez...liked both these kids and they each went for a song....

EDIT: Actually only Balic went for a song.....probably overs for Wigg....

If Carlton get pick 10 AND a first rounder next year in a very deep draft for an over-the-hill 29 next year Gibbs, Im going to stuffing spew. Apparently the deal didnt get done cause they wanted MORE!?

Lids might not be 2ce the player Gibbs is, but hes a bonafied match-winner.

This trade period is truly stuffed.
