Sicily actual last 7 games
14 - 29 - 26 - 29 - 27 - 13 - 31

Claw BS Sicily last 7 games
25 - 25 - 26 - 27 - 29 - 29 - 31

So I will start by pointing out that they are complete rubbish.

Secondly, what is the relevance?

Sicily tackles last 7 games
1 - 0 - 0 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 0

Rioli tackles last 7 games
1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 5 - 3 - 2

Sicily kicked 1 goal 1 behind in the 7 games.
Rioli kicked 8 goals 3 behinds in the 7 games.

One is a tall playing loose in defence, the other is a small forward.

Why don't we compare how many hitouts Max Gawn gets compared to Eddie Betts. It's about the same relevance.

lol Sicilys yr after the bye playing mainly as a hbf.
rnd 14 -  25
rnd 15 -  25
rnd 16 -  22
Rnd 17 - 14 my bad its still more disposals than Rioli gets.
rnd 18 - 29
rnd 20 - 29
rnd 21 - 29
rnd 22 -13
rnd 23 - 31

no one can deny unlike Rioli he has shown he can CONSISTENTLY get his hands on the ball.THOse a good stats for any player as well

Before rnd 14 he played mainly as a medium sized marking  fwd  ah a period where we can compare
RND 1  - 11 disposals 0 goals and was dropped for poor performance  something that should have happened to Rioli through the yr but didnt.
RND 2 -  dnp
rnd 3 - dnp
rnd 4 - 15 disposals two goals ten marks three of them contested more than  did his job id say
rnd 5 - 17 disposals zero  goals five marks
rnd 6 - 12 disposals  one goal six marks two  of them contested.
Rnd 7 - 7 disposals 0 goals three marks two contested
Rnd 8 - Dnp most likely got dropped but could have been injury.
rnd 9 - 12 disposals  3 goals 3 marks one contested.
rnd 10 - 13 disposals  1 goal 3 marks zero contested.
rnd 11 - 11 disposals 2 goals 3 marks two contested
rnd 12 - 13 disposals zero goals 3 marks zero contested.
rnd 13 bye.
and this at a time when they were getting belted and not a lot of ball getting fwd in a lot of games.

Simple fact is sicily has  performed just as well  Rioli as a fwd yeah rioli wins in the defensive stakes but sicily wins in the airOn top of that he has been very good as a defender.
Unlike Rioli Sicily actually got dropped for poor performances.

What i dont get is the ability of our supporters to talk up a player who has done jack poo so far and was horrible for big chunks of the yr but then stick the boots into a bloke who has done just as much and  much more when he went back and played as a defender. Why are our supporters such a closed book is it an inferioity complex or what.

those amigos a really special arent they.
not a lot of ball not a lot of goals and unlike the gullible who think they are tackling machines their tackling numbers are just average.

Hmm Butler
11.6 dis
1.3 gls
3.4 tckls

Castagna
11.3 dis
1.0 gls
3.0 tcls

Rioli
10.7 dis
0.8 gls
3.2 tckls

AND THEY ARE TALKED UP AS SOME SORT OF PHENOMENON.
Good for just 3 goals a game between them.Dont get a lot of ball averaging just 11 . 2 disposals each per game as a collective. And fmd the much hyped about tackling pressure their tackling is average and the numbers are not huge.

Haha!...You are wasting your time mate when it comes to the untouchable Rioli.
According to Chunky71 and his band of merry men, he is our best player. After all the "fans" voted him into the AA under 22 side.  :wallywink

PPFFTT pressure acts have you seen what is included in those stats.
I keep saying it we can do better because atm we are getting just a small part of the whole  from all three. they are literally glass half fulls or empty depending on how you look at it.

Sure they have plenty of improvement left and that's exciting. But even you have to admit, our small forwards as a group have been a massive part of our resurgence this year

Not sure i can agree with that on one hand they have helped and on the other been a part of a big problem.

Look we had to improve our ball movement and our pressure not just in the  fwd half but all over the ground.. they have helped in the pressure and tackling stakes but fmd it had to improve because it could be no worse than what it was.

Fmd Vickery, Griffiths Riewoldt all slow for talls and two of em id classify dinosaurs. throw in  LLoyd a slowish sml fwd lennon another slow medium fwd and it was never going to be hard to IMPROVE fwd half pressure and tackling.
So yes they have helped immensely but they are glass half fulls and only address the defensive side of the equation.
I think they are over hped and their performance over rated.Im certainly hoping we are looking at blokes who can kick 35 50 goals a yr find a decent amount of  ball and  hopefully spend some time as a part of rotations.

but they do need to tackle and harass i would have thought that is a given. I suppose these things have been so rare at tigerland that when we get em we forgive what is poor.
Maybe rioli castagna and butler can round their games out but atm it is a bit of give and take we get pressure but dont get scoreboard impact or a lot of ball in hand.
Win lose or draw this yr it is something that needs to be addressed.

Claw BS Sicily last 7 games
25 - 25 - 26 - 27 - 29 - 29 - 31

Claw was actually just trying to show us he can count from 25 to 32 but he got a little confused along the way
