I had to laugh at one stage today when I think it was Houli handballed it to BEllis. Both couldn't get rid of it quick enough with the thought of actually having to take a tackle for the team. It was like watching girls beach volleyball.

Before today we were talking about being a top 2 side but realistically how can we be with a ruckman like Soldo in our side.

Granted he is young and developing but the facts as he isn't up to AFL standard. Not even close.

Nothing against the kid but finals sides don't have players that can barely kick or handball the footy.

I'd rather go into games with Nank as out number 1 ruckman and bring someone in to give him an occasional chop out.

Totally agrre with you here.

The kid has improved enormously since he was rookied but....

Today i reckon his lack footy nous cost us 4 goals.

Yep along with Grimes probably our best today.

Lambert and Prestia were also good, Dusty and Cotch were down by their standards but still solid, BEllis didn't stop trying, cupboard gets pretty bare after that.

Yeah BEllis was trying alright......very trying....

Martin was still the most dangerous player on the ground despite Geelong swarming him at every opportunity....

I was really disappointed with Butler and Castagna today, they were timid and didn't tackle and hunt the opposition when we needed them to, they fumbled when we needed them to be clean! Butlers effort on the Geelong side in the last quarter cost us a goal and got them going. Jack lobbed a pass to him and instead of running to mark it, he let it bounce in the hope he could collect and turn his man inside out and run off, instead it bounced sideways, his man got it and the rest is history.  They're both only very average footballers that happen to have pace, just do the basics right first and then worry about the flare!

What was up with Butler? Saw him two or three times stop to wait for the ball to bounce to him rather than attack it. Each time either he or the ball was picked off.

Seemed to get in his head after he got cleaned up, was definitely hesitant after that

Yep was a pretty strong hit he took.

Makes you wonder if it was some sort delayed reaction to the hit.

Forgot about that hit. Was a decent one too, I thought he was out cold.
