Could also be what you THINK he doesn't do...
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Didn't miss seeing him pulling out of contests avoiding any sort of contact play.

Did miss the new backhanded fist knocking out a player early in the game play. .

Add to that we didn't miss his turnovers

And it is worse than that...

Oleg against Port - 9 disposals @ 44% eff, O marks, 1 tackle
Bachar against Carlton-  28 disposals @92.9% eff, 9 marks, 5 tackles.

Did we miss Houli?

Maybe not but the side would have been better for his inclusion.

 :cheers
Yeah we're already going to vote for him mate, you don't need to keep selling it.....

If you look at our kick ins in the first half - absolutely, structure completely broke down - then without doubt we certainly did

It improved after half time but it still wasn't great.

Some of Short's options were questionable but he usually shares kick-in duties with Houli anyway and Houli's kick-in options are often questionable as well, I'd also argue the main reason our structure broke down in the first half because Trengove & Dixon double-teamed Rance out of the game.

Stop the press: 29 year-old in his 158th game had better stats in comfortable home win v bottom 4 side with a man down for most of the match than 20 year-old in his 12th game did in hard fought away win v top 4 side at full-strength.... :clapping

The defense rests .

The defence had a nice rest from having to defend Houli's turnovers....

I see Houli as a spillage crumbing back.

His run is often negated by his disposal turnover rate.

Hasn't had a bad seasn but the future isn't him

Why are many of the posters comparing Oleg to Houli?

Oleg did not play Houli's run and carry role, he played a close marking defenders . (something that Houli is incapable of doing)

At one stage Edwards had Houli's role and it switched as the game progressed.

Coz Markov more or less took Houli's spot. And Markov should be a run and carry player. He's a gazelle. No one is having a crack at Markov, he's a got a huge ceiling. Just some think Houli is better replaced by a dish cloth - which is rubbish. Houli's a decent contributor, just has some deficiencies.

Houli is good to have, to bring back if one of the kids gets injured

So who here honestly believes we would've won by more had Houli been playing?
