He also said we're not a a tru;y great team because we keep opposition sides in it and against the truly great teams you're never in the game....

...so I guess Hawthorn weren't a truly great team either considering all those close matches Geelong had with them...that Geelong usually ended up winning.... :shh

Here's the transcript:

'Beatable' Tigers don't have flag in the bag yet

GEELONG coach Chris Scott is adamant this year's premiership race is wide open, saying reigning premier Richmond will need "a lot to go right" for it to clinch back-to-back flags.

Scott was speaking after his team had come within three points of breaking Richmond's record streak of wins at the MCG, which stretched to 19 on Friday night.

The Cats also had a chance to take the lead inside the final two minutes, but Gary Ablett pushed an open shot from 35m well wide.

Before Friday night's game, the closest any team had got to the Tigers at the MCG this year had been 13 points (Hawthorn in round three).

But Scott saw enough things in his team's performance to be confident it could turn the tables on Richmond if it got the chance in the finals.

"We're disappointed but we're not discouraged with the performance. We had our chances to win," Scott said.

"I thought we had the better of the game for big parts of the game, so I don't think anyone from our footy club should be walking away thinking that we need to change things drastically to beat them

"They're the best side in it at the moment, but they need a lot to go right from them to win it – no question."

Pressed about his take on Richmond's flag defence, Scott praised Damien Hardwick's team, but did not back away from his belief it was beatable.

"They've won 19 at the MCG in a row, they are good, but particularly watching the game last week I thought Collingwood were on top for big parts of the game," he said.

"When you talk about the juggernauts of the competition of years gone by you were just never in the game against them. I don't see that (with Richmond, but) I don't want to overstate it.

"If we're good enough over the next six or seven weeks and we get another chance to play them – and hopefully we do – we'll give ourselves a really good chance.

"I think there are other teams in exactly the same boat as well. Yeah, they're a good team, but they're beatable."

As for Ablett's shot on goal that would likely have won the game for Geelong, Scott said simply: "I thought he would kick it."

Yup this is the quote that Dio was referring to that really shows what a big jealous sook he is. Can someone tell him what our avg winning margin in the 19 game streak is or point him to our finals series last year......

Should change the name of our biggest sook thread in his honour.

Let the baby have his rattle....
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Do you think any of this gets back to dimmer. That’s a really good motivator should we meet them again

I didn’t think it possible for anyone to be a bigger flog than Brad Scott but his brother proved me wrong last night.
Chris is by far the better twin but he sounded like an immuture baby last night.

Make the finals first before shooting off your mouth you c0ckhead.

We had 23 more inside 50’s last night and should have won by 10 goals, the umpires that were simply cheating and he thinks they are in our league. Get a clue!

Can’t stand how this tosser is regarded as a statesman of the game. Inherited a premiership side and has treaded water since. Doesn’t know what it’s like to be a loser and can’t handle it. He should get used to it.

Really!
That is as close as they will ever get to us, totally flattered them the end result. We controlled them and the umpires last night, Scott can suck my chocolate salty balls!

Chris Scott is just insufferable. Absolutely hates us.

Snarky comments after we won the Grand Final last year.

Inherited a super team unlike Dimma who had to do it the hard way.

Good luck beating us next year when we have Tom.

Even Gary Lyon on Fox just then had our backs saying their best players were at their best and they still didn't win and we've got players to come back. They blew it. Everyone knows how we play, it's no secret and it's no secret how to beat us. It's easier said than done. I still think the only time we were genuinely towelled up was against the Eagles but even then we could have put them to the sword at half time. Against Port they had one 10 minute flash in the pan in the second quarter and we were our own worst enemy in the second half while keeping them to only a goal or two for the entire second half. Against the Giants despite some other issues, had we kicked even a little better we still would have fallen over the line.

You know it’s a ridiculous statement when even a hater like Lyon is backing us

Garry is a hater lite, just liked giving us poo when we were bad, Scott has a neurotic, pathological hatred that runs deep in his tiny little mind, it will trip him up.
Lots of people name their swords......
