I'm pretty sure Rioli's main goals set are to harass, pressure, tackle.
I think you will find Rioli playing more up the field and through the midfield once his body gets bigger and his tank improves. At this stage the easily pleased stat noters should be satisfied.
I for one think we are witnessing the birth of a real special player.
And your witnessing this from yesterday??
He had 2 tackles and one was a missed opportunity ten metres out from goal as he had Roberton cold but let him go....
And he had 2 kicks and one was a missed goal from the top of the square under little pressure...
I know he won't get dropped as he lives with the coach but take the blinders off for a minute.
He was still twice as good than Castagna on the day.
But still not good enough.
no he wasn't. Not even close.
But let's be honest you cannot see past your hatered for Cotch to watch the game properly
I never have said I hated Cotchin ever.
I only rate him higher than most and expect more from him than the average footballer on our list.
As for Rioli and Castagna's last game. Both were crap but Rioli was still twice as good.
Rioli had more possessions, twice as many tackles inside f50. More pressure acts, contested possessions and more intercept possessions so he was twice as good or he was not half as bad as your love child lasagna.
Both need to lift next game if they aren't omitted.
What a pathetic effort of twisting a stat to suit your argument.
Rioli had 2 tackles for the game and George had 4 and yet you twist that to favour Rioli. Wowee!
Watching the replay George was pretty good in the first half when the game was on the line. He should have had a goal but was unselfish and gave a "Joe the Goose" handball over the top to Townsend.
Like you say though both need to contribute more but don't try and convince yourself that Rioli has been twice as good as anyone.
In fact if I had to choose between Rioli and a 2nd gamer in Graham to play in a final I would chose Graham every time.
You may have but it seems you haven't been critical of Castagna poor performances but are very quick to highlight Rioli.
But you were right I did twist the stats to suit my argument.
The debate was about Rioli and Castagnas game against saints but not anything to do with Graham who I'm sure we all are very impressed with.
All three amigos have had pretty good years no doubt their contribution has helped in our current position. But I think I'm not alone in seeing massive upside in Rioli over Castagna not to say that Castagna couldn't improve or hasn't already improved.
Out of the three I'd put Rioli on top with the most ability. Butler second and Castagna last because his kicking is atrocious and he lacks the decision making skill of the other two. I also think that out of the three I see Rioli and Butler eventually progressing into the middle but I don't think the same with Castagna.
